EmBakes- Raspberry Mousse

Hello Everybody,
First things first, I'm wondering whether I should really be calling this EmBakes, because I suppose technically making a mousse isn't baking, is it? But oh well, I sort of like the name,so I'll stick with it for now.
Anyway, I actually came up with this recipe, and completely winged it whilst making it in a catering lesson, but it turned out really well and tasted really good *not to be modest at all*. I am definitely going to be making this again because it is so easy and quick to make. What's more is that it is a no cook recipe, so that speeds up the process even more.

Raspberry Mousse

60g sugar
A medium carton of double cream
A punnet of raspberries
2 egg whites

  1. Put the cream, raspberries and sugar in a bowl and whisk to form soft peaks. The raspberries will liquidise during this process, so you add them whole.
  2. Whisk the two egg whites together in a completely clean and dry bowl until they form stiff peaks, or until you can turn the bowl upside down and it doesn't come out.
  3. Carefully fold in the egg whites into the cream mixture, do this very gentally so you do not beat out the air bubbles made, during the areation.
  4. Serve into your serving glasses, and put in the fridge to set for a short while.
  5. You can decorate with a piece of raspberry if you want *I put mine on sideways because that way they look like love hearts*.
I hope you enjoyed this little recipe.

Bourjois Paris- Délice de Poudre (bronzing powder)

Hello Everybody,
I know this post is up a little later today than it normally would be, but I've been doing a lot of school work, so it has made it a little difficult. But, I am not going to stop blogging just for that reason, because you guys give me a break, and I love blogging to bits.
It's been a week now since I have done a makeup review, so I thought you guys wouldn't mind too much, considering my Maybelline Baby Lips post was quite popular with you guys.
I've never really ventured into the world of bronzers before buying the Bourjois Paris Délice de Poudre before, but I am so pleased with my choice, in fact this is my first Bourjois product also, and they haven't disappointed. Anyway, I bought the colour peaux claires/ médianes which I believe means light to medium skin toned (if my GCSE french course is paying off) but if not it is in the shade 51. I'm not overly sure how many other shades they do, but I'm pretty sure it is only one other.
This bronzer is great for me and the colour is perfect, so it doesn't make my face look over done. I apply this just under my cheekbones and along my neck line, this contours my face, and slims it out.
In the box the bronzer does look like it has a slight shimmer in it but when applied it definiteky seems more matte, which I am happy about, because me being as pale as I am I think shimmer makes me look a little bit washed out.
Another thing I love about this bronzer is that it looks like chocolate, and not only that but smells like it too, which is totally awesome. I bought this bronzer from Superdrug at £6.99 which is a brilliant price for such a high quality bronzer.
I hope you enjoyed my short makeup review.

The Liebster Award

Hello Everybody,
I have been tagged by Nadja to be part of this awesome thing. Basically the Liebster award, is a tag designed for new and small blogs, and is used to help traffic new readers to the smaller blogs. Personally, I think this is a great idea as I love to read of new blogs and things, and when I saw that Nadja had tagged me (I saw it through some of my traffic sources coming from her blog) I just had to check out everyone elses blog that had been tagged too. This ended in me spending most of last night reading everyones amazing blog posts.

The rules:

  1. The tagged/nominated blogs have to have under 200 followers.
  2. Tag the blog that nominated you.
  3. Tell the people you tagged so that they can respond.
  4. To answer the questions asked
  5. Make up 10 more of your own questions

Why did you start a blog?

I suppose I started a blog for many reasons really. A couple of years ago I discovered YouTube and really started to enjoy watching beauty gurus such as Michelle Phan, Zoe Sugg, Louise Pentland, Fleur De Force and Tanya Burr. Watching all these videos meant that I soon got into watching vloggers and even more beauty gurus across the world. After about a year of watching many of these peoples videos I discovered many of them had blogs, which I found very cool.
After a lot of thinking about it I decided to write my own, I knew my English needed improving and that I really wanted to have a place where I could share my passion. I decided that YouTube was just a little bit too much for me, and that is how my blog was created.

What is your favourite clothing store?

I actually really like H&M which might suprise a lot of people. I prefer shops where they sell cheaper clothes, but have a wider variety of things, still with brilliant quality. I know many of my friends are massive Hollister and Superdry fans, and as much as a lot of their clothes are outstanding quality, there isn't much of a choice. Besides I'd much rather spend £70 on a good selection of clothes rather than just one jumper, and perhaps one t-shirt.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Hmm... Let's think about this, I am 15 now which means that in five years I will be twenty. I guess by the time I am twenty I would love to have my baking business up and running. But would also like to think that I would still be blogging, and enjoying it as much as I am right now.

What is your favourite food?

This is a toughy for me as food is one of my greatest passions, and I love experimenting with it and creating new things. I think at the moment my favourite food is probably roast pork *I'm so happy because I've got it for my dinner tonight*. But my favourite sweet food right now has got to be original glazed krispy kreme doughnuts.

Do you have a celebrity crush, if so who is it?

I don't often think about this, but to list a few, I quite like Drake and I also think that Justin Timberlake is still pretty hot.

Do you have a favourite movie?

This one is easy for me, and if you are one of my friends you have probably guessed it already, but I am absolutely obsessed with Pitch Perfect. I have watched the film so many times now that I probably know it word for word. Also, I find Rebel Wilson who plays Fat Amy Aca-hilarious. Speaking of pitch perfect, did you know that they are making a second one?

Are you looking forward to Christmas?

Is that even a question? Of course I am looking forward to christmas. In fact, I just love all of December, with my birthday being then too, and all of the festive shopping. I cannot wait until I draw my name for my friendship groups secret santa. I still remember last year, when our school went on a christmas shopping trip and we decided to see if santa was still in his grotto. Oh the crazy things typical teenagers get up to (that was a joke by the way).

Do you rather where lipstick or lipgloss?

Neither really, I prefer lip stains. But I suppose if I had to choose from these two I would go for lipstick, as matte is in this autumn, and gloss is too shimmery for that.

Make-up or clothes, what would you choose?

Although there is so much make-up still on my wish list, I think I would have to go for clothes. I love to keep up with all of the latest fashions, and in all honesty I don't really need any more make-up, not matter how much I want it.

I tag:

My questions for you are:
  1. What inspired you to start a blog?
  2. Who is your favourite music artist?
  3. Would you rather go bowling or go to the cinema with your friends?
  4. What is your favourite season?
  5. What is your favourite restaurant?
  6. What is the scariest thing that has ever happened to you?
  7. What is the happiest thing that has ever happened to you?
  8. Where is your dream place to visit?
  9. What is a staple item of makeup you must have?
  10. Do you prefer summer fashion or winter fashion?
Thanks again Nadja for awarding me with this opportunity, and I hope you all enjoyed todays tag post.

Just another rainy Saturday...

Hello Everybody,
It's been a while since I've done a simple post on how my day has been, and seeing as I've done nothing but makeup, makeup, cakes and more makeup I thought I should just sit back and tell you a little bit about my day. Also, I know this post has gone up a little bit later than expected today, but I was a little bit busy.
Anyway, this morning started off a little bit lazy, whilst I decided I couldn't be bothered to do my homework or revision at the crack of dawn, when I woke up, I decided to catch up on waterloo road, and then have my weekly fill of Saturday Kitchen. I love watching cooking programmes and I always look forward to a bit of Saturday kitchen and Sunday brunch at the weekends.
After I had watched a fair few hours of TV still tucked up in bed, of course I had to have a short blog reading session, and then catch up on all of my youtube subscriptions. I am loving CTFxC at the moment, they are a couple who have been vlogging for five years (and for the longest ever). I would also like to send my best wishes to the man behind the vlogs, Charles Trippy who has actully just had brain surgery, yet him and his wife Alli have still continued to vlog, they even vlogged the surgery. Also, they have just hit 1,000,000 subscribers which is absolutely insane!!
Once I was pleasantly up to date with the youtube'ing' world I decided to get ready for the day. Which I suppose this is the appropriate time for me to include an outfit of the day... Hooray!
So there it is, that is what I wore today as the weather was wet, but not freezing. I apologise now for not knowing the price of the dress, but unfortunately it is actually from a few winters ago, but hopefully you could find something similar elsewhere.
After that, I did a bit of experimental makeup, which actually turned out really nice, so I might do a FOTD (face of the day) post another day maybe, who knows?
Next, I went down town to interview a lovely lady and her sandwich business down town, for some business coursework. I am really happy with the answers I was given and the fact that I have now got it over and done with. Afterwards, my mum then took me to a local pub for a spot of lunch because I had met her after she had finished work, and we shared a mucky chips.
Once my mum and I had walked home together in the delightful rain, we decided to pop out back to Dorothy Perkins, I had to exchange some hunter green jeggings because when I bought them home the other day I spotted a rather dodgy looking pull on them. Unfortunately, they had none left so I had to just get a refund, and I will hopefully be able to get them online. Although, on the bright side me and mum did stop off at a garden centre on the way to smell the yankee candles, summer scoop for the win, that is all I can say.
On our way back we checked out the Next sale, which was packed so we soon ran out of there and had a yummy ice-cream from burger king. When I got home I completed my homework, and finally that brings me to now, when I just happen to be writing a blog post, funny that isn't it?

Maybelline Baby Lips

Hello Everybody,
I have have been sucked into the latest beauty rave, and boy do I not regret it. As probably everyone in the beauty world now know, is that the Maybelline Baby lips have finally made there way to the UK. As soon as I found out that they were coming to England I did a little victory lap around the neighbourhood (obviously that isn't true, but it sounds cool.).
Anyway, I searched high and low in the shops for them since the day they were released, and every single drugstore and supermarket I went too there was nothing. I knew they did them online, but I'm not really an internet shopper, and I didn't really want to pay for delivery that was more expensive than the actual product.
Finally, at the beginning of September, as I was casually wondering around my local superdrug, with no plan to find them *because I'd sort of given up by then* I found one. I really wanted to try the tinted ones, so I when I saw the pink punch one, I literally squealed and hugged my closest friend, sorry Louisa.
Anyway, the pink punch is obviously the pink one, and you actually wouldn't believe *unless you already have this* how amazballs this actually smells. I'm going to try my best to describe this, which trust me I'm not very good at, but I think it sort of smells like a mixture, of raspberries, strawberries and peach.
The hydration in this is good, but obviously not as great as nivea lip balms, but I still think they are better, than the revlon lip butters. Unfortunately, the tint isn't very pigmented and is actually quite sheer, but either way, you can still tell the colour difference though. Another bad thing about the baby lips is that they don't stay on your lips for too long. Overall, I still love the baby lips in pink punch.
At last the other day, while I was wondering around a boots, I spotted the baby lips in Cherry Me  through the corner of my eye. I didn't actually have any plan on buying this though, because I am on 'project no buy' as I call it at the moment, which means I have to go for as long as I can not buying any beauty products. But, I didn't fail, because I used my Boots points, so all was fine.
The cherry me baby lips is the red one and smells of the most delicious cherry flavour ever, and I adore the smell of cherries. Just like the pink punch baby lips, the colour payoff isn't that great, but it is great subtle red for school, and still moisterizes my lips. At the moment this one is my favourite, but they keep swapping around.
Overall, I highly recommend baby lips, because for just £2.99 they are amazing quality, I mean who new you could get a scented, tinted lip balm for such a cheap price?
I hope you enjoyed today's little review, and if you have  any questions, don't be afraid to comment below or email me at Also, don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin, just click on the big Eiffle Tower icon that is in my right hand side bar.

Maybelline Fit Me! pressed powder

Hello Everybody,
So today I thought I'd do another makeup review for you, and I am so excited to share this product with you because a pressed powder is something that I have been meaning to pick up for a long time. As I may or may not have said before, I have only recently got into makeup so I am still picking up essentials, but I only get what I need.
In the holidays when I went out with my friends, I sort of had a little bit of a money splurge in the towns superdrug and boots, and spent my whole months pocket money, which I have since learned from because it has meant that I have had nothing for the rest of the month. Anyway, after I was ripped of by superdrug, and had to put some things back because their labelling was incorrect, I had a little look in boots. It may come to your surprise that where I live the superdrug is actually a lot bigger than the boots.
Sorry, for the not so great photo, I am writing this post out of daylight because I have been revising for a geography exam in which I have tomorrow.
Whilst I was in boots the Maybelline Fit Me pressed powder really caught my attention. As I know this season the matte face is in, which in some ways I am highly glad about because I was never a fan of the 'dewy' face, as it always made people a little bit sweaty and not very clean.
Back to the product, I love, love, love this product purely because it sets my makeup so well, and it makes my skin look matte and smooth.I bought the Fit me! pressed powder in the colour 120 classic ivory, because my skin in super duper pale. The thing I like about the colour is that it almost reminds me of a translusent powder, so it matches my skintone perfectly, with or without a very slight tan (I say very slight because I hardly tan).
Another thing I like about this product, is that it has this little flip up section inside which contains a little powder puff and a mirror, which makes it a really handy product for going out. The only bad thing I would say about this is that I don't think there will be much product there because a lot of it is waisted on the powder puff compartment. Other than that I do think that the Fit me! pressed powder is a great product for a great price retailing at £5.99.
I hope you enjoyed my post today. If you enjoy reading my posts don't forget to follow me on bloglovin because I have a cool new clicky link thing down the side bar, and if you have any questions feel free to comment below or email me at

EmBakes- Eton Mess

Hello Everybody,
Today, I have another EmBakes post up, although I suppose this isn't exactly classed as baking, but oh well. Anyway, a few weeks ago I was asked by my catering teacher to make a fruit dessert with a standard component. After having a flap on the Sunday night because I thought I had cooking on the Monday morning and realised that the ingredients I had bought were a for chocolate mousse that did not include a fruit, and then noticing that in my planner it said I wasn't cooking until the Thursday, I finally decided to make an Eton Mess.
For my Eton Mess I didn't actually find a recipe, I just 'winged' it really, but the end result ended up being lovely, so if you are in any rush to make a dessert one day then this is probably the recipe for you.

Emily's Eton Mess

A large punnet of strawberries
A 300ml carton of whipping cream
A pack of eight meringue nests
100g of dark chocolate (optional for decoration)

  1. Firstly, I chopped all of the strawberries into eighths, so they were a good bite size colour because don't forget that this has to be a mess.
  2. I then put the whipping cream into a large bowl, and whipped it with an electric whisk. Make sure that when you are doing this that you do not over whip it because otherwise it will curdle, and you'll have to start again which will be a waste of cream. Only whip it until the cream is forming soft peaks.
  3. Next, gently fold in the strawberries, don't be too vigorous because the juices of the strawberries could discolour the cream and as mentioned in the step above, you do not want to over whip the cream.
  4. Finally, crumble in all of the meringues and fold into the cream mixture.
  5. If you want to decorate with the chocolate, melt in a bain marie (put the chocolate in a glass bowl and melt over a saucepan of boiling water). Once the chocolate is shiny and very runny in consistency, take it off of the heat.
  6. I made tapered chocolate and to do this I put some of chocolate on a pastry brush and painted strips of chocolate on to greaseproof paper. If you want you could try and pipe, by using a disposable piping bag and cutting a small snip at the tip.
  7. I then put the Eton Mess into some nice dessert bowls and topped it with the chocolate decorations.
I hope you all enjoy this little dessert, and if you have any questions don't be afraid to pop it in the comments or email me at

I love autumn tag

Hello Everybody,
As many of you may have gathered by now, I am a huge fan of autumn. From warm jumpers, to colourful leaves, everything seems so beautiful and cosy about autumn. For this reason I have decided to create a tag post for it, because I am interested to see what everyone else loves about autumn. So without further ado, here it is...

1. What is your favourite piece of clothing to be wearing in Autumn?

For me I love all things jumper related, but at the moment I am loving my cream knitted cardigan from New Look. It is quite over sized, so I always feel super duper cosy wearing it. Also, it goes with practically everything in my wardrobe. I also love my maroon tights and Doc Marten boots.

2. What is you favourite nail colour for Autumn?

Personally, in Autumn I love deep purples and burgandy reds on my nails. Although, I hate painting my nails with dark colours, because it is a pain to clean up, I love the look of it when it is on my nails. Also, it matches the leaves on the trees, so it makes me feel really happy.

3. What is your favourite makeup product for Autumn?

I love, love, love wearing darker colours on my lips in the autumn. For school I like to wear my Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in the colour honey, because it is a slightly dark purpley pink colour but isn't too dark and flirty for school. Outside of school though I like to wear the Bourjois Colour Boost  Glossy Finsh Lipstick in the colour red sunrise, it is quite a bright red, probably the colour of strawberrys is the best way to describe it. It looks so lovely against, the purples and oranges that are in during the autumnal months.

4. What is your favourite beauty product to use during autumn?

I can't decide between two, which is bad considering it is my own tag, but oh well, I'll say both. First of all, I love to use the Maybelline Baby lips during these cooler months. Although I have only just started to use them, my lips already started to feel so much more hydrated and I love it, especially considering the cold always chaps my lips. But I also love using Soap and Glorys Hand food, because I love having smooth hands and can't stand them being dry.

5. What item of clothing do you love wearing at home, but woudn't be seen wearing it in public?

This has to be my primark cupcake onesie. Although it is so super duper cosy, it is a little bit embarassing and I look like a little kid wondering around in it. Also, I think I'd look like a bit of a fool wondering around town wearing it.

6. What is you favourite drink for the Autumn weather?

I love hot drinks when the weather is cooler outside. I love drinking my apple tea that I got from my best friend Katie as a holiday present, because it is so warming, and I love apples. But, I have to say my favourite drink for the winter would have to be my milka hot chocolate, it is 'da bomb'!!

7. What is your favourite winter food?

I would probably have to say a good roast dinner with all of the trimmings, including parsnips and roast potatoes, or a garden vegetable soup. To me both of these meals are super duper warming and make me feel so lovely and cosy.

8. What is you favourite thing to do in the autumn?

I know this may seem a little bit weird, but I love kicking the crunchy leaves that have fallen off of the trees. I remember doing it last year, and my friends Louisa and Ellie looking at me thinking "We don't know her!". I suppose it is a little bit of a childish thing to do but it always makes such a beautiful noise, and always looks so pretty.

9. What is you favourite accessory?

My favourite accessory to wear in the autumn has got to be my long cream scarf with its dark blues fairisle print, and its cutes tassles at the bottom. Not only does it keep my neck warm, but it looks wonderfully cosy and makes my school uniform look a little bit more me.

10. What is you favourite Autumn scent?

My favourite autumn scent has to be something with vanilla or cinnamon in it. Both smell so sweet and make me feel really festive even when Christmas is still really far away. I also love the smell of cranberry in autumn. Oh, and the smell of rain, which makes me really what to buy that November rain Yankee Candle. At the moment I am burning my Christmas cupcake one, and I am wearing my natural collection body spray.

11. How do you like to have your hair in the autumn?

I do like to change up my hairstyle but I suppose my favourite hairstyle to do during the autumn months is a diagonal French braid. I start plaiting from the top of the left side of my head and finish at the bottom on the right, if that makes any sense? I also like having my hair in a ponytail with a bow, or in a bun with a bow. I do like bows very much.

12. Do you love autumn?

Well considering I made the tag this is a bit of a daft question for me, but I'm going to state the obvious and say, of course I do!! I love the jumpers, colourful leaves, the brisk breeze, hot chocolates, bon fires, smores, hiking, blankets and cuddling, halloween, woolly socks, scented candles, the smell of cinnamon, crunchy leaves, walks and scarves and mittens.
I hope you liked this tag that I created, and I would like to tag my good friend Heather and everybody else who has read this and want to give it a go. Please post your responses in the comments below, or link your blogs in the comments if you try it on your own site.
Thanks for reading this.

Benefit boi~ing concealer review.

Hello Everybody,
Basically, the other day on the way home from the Netherlands my family stopped at a shopping centre, to cut the long story short, I found a sephora, and splurged a bit of cash. I'm not going to say what else I bought yet, but I will do a review on that another day.
First of all, I'd like to ask, how are you all doing? I am great today, summer is finally coming to a close and autumn is finally here. I am over the moon with this beautiful whether. The leaves on the trees are crisping up on the trees, and this truly excites me. As I write this I am sitting in a warm jumper and knitted tights, just because I can. Also, is it just me, or is the smell of rain, so wonderfully fresh smelling?
Anyway, back to what I am actually meant to be talking about today, and that is the one and only... Benefit boi~ing!! This is basically one of the first expensive pieces of makeup that I have ever owned, but I don't regret spending the 20 euros on it one bit. This concealer is the one of the most amazing products I have ever owned, and that isn't even a joke.
The box says that Benefit boi~ing is an industrial strength concealer, and no word of a lie, it really is. The stay power on this thing is absolutely incredible, I mean, not many concealers can last a whole school day, including a PE lesson without sliding half way down your face. Also, this concealer is so easy to apply, all you have to do is put a little bit on the end of your finger and dab it on the places you want to cover up.
I use this concealer on my dark under eye circles and any blemishes and red patches I have on my face. The great thing about using it under my eye is that it also makes a great highlighter. I got the lightest colour, which is 01 because as I may have said before, I am as white as a milk bottle. The colour is perfect for my skin and I am glad I bought it.
The only bad word I can say about this concealer is that it isn't very moisturising, so I highly recommend you use moisturisers nightly, to make sure it doesn't show dry patches.

What is in my school bag?

Hello Everybody,
As promised, today I am going to do a 'what is in my school bag?' post. Firstly, I would like to add that this year none of my school items are new apart from the planner that is provided by my school. I decided that this year after a big splurge on all things stationary and back to school related last year I would challenge myself to not get anything new, because I simply didn't need it. Apart from repurchasing the odd pens here and now, I never ran out of any stationary and decided to live with the fact that pens and pencils just do not stay clean in a pencil case.
Not only that, but I haven't included exercise books in this post, because they also get provided by the school where I go, so I am just going to show you the bits and pieces I choose to take to school with me. I hope you all like this post, and whether your at work or do go to school, this post helps you a tiny bit.
First, I am going to show you what is in my main pocket of my school bag. I keep my planner in my main pocket so it is easy to reach, and also because it doesn't fit in the smaller ones. I use my planner to record homework, important date and reminders in it. I choose to make my planner uber colourful, because it makes my planner not look as sad when I see the heaps of homework recorded inside it. I also have a notebook in my big pocket just in case I forget an exercise book or something. In this pocket I also have, a tin of colouring pencils, and flexible ruler (YAY!) and my pencil case, which I keep, pens, erasers, highlighters, coloured pens and HB pencils inside.
In the first of three little pockets on my bag I keep all of my maths stuff inside, this is why I call the pocket 'my maths pocket', that was meant to be funny until I said it out loud and realised it really just killed it. Anyway, this pocket is where I keep my geometry set and scientific calculator. I always carry around my scientific calculator with me because it is also needed for science, and teachers absolutely hate it if you forget it.
In my second mini pocket I keep tissues, because I live in England and you can't go a winter term without catching the wonderful cold (shout out to Kerry, because she has the most horrible cold ever at the moment and I really don't want her to give it to me, don't you dare ;)). I also keep my body shop grapefruit hand sanitizer in this pocket, because as I just basically said, school is a very germy place. Also, people are always hogging the sinks whenever I am going to the loo because they are busy re-applying makeup a or doing their hair. In this pocket I also keep blister plasters and a nail file just in case of emergency. I have a mini suncream also, because as I mentioned before I live in England and the weather can be so unpredictable at times. Not only that, but I also have hand cream, because I can't stand the feeling of dry hands. Finally in this pocket I keep some hair bands and bobby pins, just in case I forget to tie my hair up for a catering or PE day, or in case we are doing an experiment in science.
In my final mini pocket I keep, a mini deodharant, mainly for after PE. A small perfume, which smells of blueberrys and is from sephora.I also keep a compact mirror in this pocket and a lip balm, the lip balm I am currently using is Baby Lips Pink Punch with smells absolutely wonderful and is slightly tinted.
I also have a secret pocket at the back of my bag where I keep my phone and door keys, because it is easier for me to reach that way. I don't actually take any makeup with me to school (apart from lip balms) because I don't find the school a very clean place to do it, and if you put decent long lasting makeup on for school, it shouldn't need re-applying. Also makeup should be pretty minimalistic for school.
I hope you enjoyed another one of my back to school specials, and if you want more of these please comment any suggestions. Also, I have a lot of makeup reviews coming soon.

PS: I forgot to say I bought my rucksack from accesserize last year, I am not sure whether they still sell it, but overall it is a good bag apart from a few fasteners breaking. I like having a rucksack also, because it stops me from getting a dead arm, like a tote or a shoulder bag would.

My 50th Post

Hello Everybody,
Although I did tell you guys originally, that today I would do a "What's in my school bag?" post I thought "Hold on, that can wait!", because today's post is my 50th post, and that is absolutely insane. Also, I thought that I should wait for my new planner until I do that, so first of all, sorry to all of you lovely readers that are disappointed in this sudden change of plans. I promise that on Saturday, I will have that post up, and if it gives you any ideas, then you can hit the back to school sales and save a bunch of pennies "How about that then?".
I didn't really know what picture would be relevant for my 50th post, but as it's 'Throwback Thursday' I thought "Why not show an embarassing old photo of myself to the bloggersphere?". Also, it sort of links to growing as a person theme, as I've learnt a lot of things since I was this small.
When I noticed that this was my 50th post I couldn't believe it. I mean I haven't really been blogging for that long, but since my first post which was a Favourite skincare products post a lot has changed. From May the 12th to present I feel that I have grown more confident, gained new skills and definitely learnt some new things about myself.
I have learnt that if there is something that you really want to do but are scared of what other people might think, do it anyway. When the thought of blogging popped into my mind about a year ago, I winced at the thought of what others may think of me doing it. I thought that because I wasn't the most popular and coolest person at school people might judge me for it, but in fact, people didn't care. I've known four people since then who have given blogging a try, and although I'm not sure whether a couple of them are still doing it, they tried, and that is what they should be proud of.
Blogging is a commitment, it isn't just something that people can just do in a couple of seconds, it can take a good few hours a week. But for me, I enjoy it. Blogging is where I can share my thoughts to the world, and enjoy being able to talk loads but not get moaned at because it is read by people. I can talk to people that enjoy the same thing as I do, and I can be myself. Since May the 12th I've learnt to be ture to myself and to not pretend to be someone I'm not. I have learnt that people like me just the way I am *starts singing 'Just the way you are' in my head*, I mean if people didn't like reading my posts then I wouldn't have had over 1700 pageviews already.
I am proud of what I have achieved. I mean, I suppose to some people my figures might not be record breakers, but to me they are. Every milestone I hit I celebrate inside my mind, it excites me that as I write somebody is reading my blog. I'm just a boring teenager from England to most people, but to my special readers I'm more than that, I am the girl behind the computer screen, that in some cases lives the other side of the world and that shares her thoughts with them.
Every single one of my readers is my friend, because even though I haven't seen many of them (a few I know because they are close friends and family) they have all made me smile. They have all made me the blogger that I am today, and have all made me confident enough to share my opinions with them. It really touches me that I may have influenced someone to try something new, and although I may have also influenced them to spend a little bit of money, I have hopefully made them happy. It also makes me smile that my advice has maybe helped someone, it has certainly helped me and I'm the one writing the thing.
My blog has helped me to be positive and to think of happy things in life. I know, because I'm with you every step of the way that being a teenager is tough, but that is just because we have a lot happening. We are growing up, and of course that is going to make us emotional *I am shedding a tear right this moment because my post is getting a little bit deep* but we have so much great things happening too. Whenever a bad thing happens to me I think "Oh well, I might have gained a new pageview", but little things like that can touch people.
If anyone that knows me is reading this I can be a little bit excitable at the best of times, and you can probably tell that even this is making me jump for joy. I have learnt to be myself, in beauty, fashion and life, because somewhere out there, there is somebody waiting to meet someone just like me. We are all unique, and should never be scared of trying something new, because at the end of the day, sometimes you need to think about what makes you happy. That is why I chose blogging, because it made me happy, confident and comfortable within myself, and not only that but I'm damn sure I've made someone else be happy too.

PS: I would like to apologise for the length of this post, but if you have got to the bottom of it then you should give yourself a round of applause because you have survived one of my many rambles, and that is an achievement.

Back to school- Morning routine

Hello Everybody,
Yes, it is that sad time of the year again when we have to go back to school. But, in some ways, I am so excited. Autumn is just around the corner, which means, cosy jumpers, warm drinks, scarves and mittens, bonfires, Halloween, carving pumpkins, movie nights, leaves changing colour, long cool walks with the leaves crunching beneath our feet, nice smelling candles and most of all the boots can come back out (woohoo!).
As you can probably already tell, I am trying to be optimistic and think about all of the great things that are happening soon, rather than thinking "Oh great, I've got exams this year!". Some other great things about this part of the year is Christmas, bonfire night and parties. I have realised that the gap between September and December always seems to wizz past, so I want to make the most of whats left of 2013, and jump into 2014 with a skip in my step.
For me, being organised and having good routine always makes me feel more organised and ready for what the day has to throw at me. Routine is good way for your body to feel more awake and ready to concentrate on the work ahead; it also means that you can relax more and not feel stressed that you have forgotten something. Let's face it people, we have all had a day when we have gotten down the road from our house and thought "Shoot, I've forgotten my P.E kit!" or "Bum! I didn't brush my teeth." sometimes causing sudden panic, racing home and then being late for school, causing even more back to school blues.
The good thing about being in a routine is that eventually we get to a habit of following the routine religiously, meaning less morning grumpiness.
Today I have decided to share with you my morning routine, as I know some people can find it hard to know what to do when they get up in the morning. I am going to include times, so I thought I should prewarn you that my school starts at 8:45am, which is painful to think about considering I go back to school in 2 days.
My Routine!!
At 7am I get up, I don't put a snooze on my alarm because I find that that makes me feel even more tired.
I then do a few exercizes, which may seem a little extreme for a morning but it wakes me up and keeps my body in good enough shape. I tend to do 20 sit ups and a minute long plank (occasionally I do some squats if I feel like my legs need a workout).
Next I go into the bathroom and have a wash with my cleanser. I like to wash with cold water as it brightens up my face and wakes me up. I choose not to have a shower in the morning because I don't have time. But don't worry, I shower in the evening.
I then put my school uniform on, this is the moment I usually forget how to tie a tie on my first day back at school and stand there figuring it out for the next ten minutes *note to self, practice tomorrow night*.
I then do my hair, which tends to be a ponytail, plait or bun, I don't like having my hair down because I have to tie it up for catering and P.E anyway.
I then do my makeup, which I try to keep to a minimum as loud makeup can be a little inappropriate for a day at school.
After that I have my breakfast, which tends to consist of cereal or toast. Occasionally I will have a banana if I need extra brain power for that day.
Next I brush my teeth. I know some people do this before breakfast, but to me that doesn't make much sense as your breakfast will then taste minty and your teeth will get dirty again.
I then check my room is tidy, because I can make a mess getting ready for the day and make my bed.
Afterwards, I pack my school bag, although I tend to put my correct books in my bag the night before with any due homework, I do like to double check. Packing my school bag also includes my lunch and snack which consists of a sandwich or pasta, an apple, a banana and a granola bar.
Finally, at ten past eight I leave my house, meet for my friends so we make it to school fifteen minutes before registration. This gives us time to get to our classrooms and chat to any friends along the way. It also means we aren't doing any last minute rushing around.
I hope you enjoyed todays back to school post, and Thursdays post will be a what's in my school bag post. I know my back to school series is a tad late, but I had a lot of posts scheduled as I was on a family holiday in the Netherlands.
