My Spring/Summer fashion dislikes

Hello Everybody,
Here is the second part of my Spring/Summer fashion post and today I will be telling you some of this years fashion trends that I am not loving so much. For me it is a common case that the things I originally really dislike to start off with in new trends I grow to love, for example, I used to hate Doc Martens but now I would marry mine.
My first fashion dislike is the trucker sandal, although I will admit I do not find them as ugly as I first thought. Personally, I think that some of the trucker sandals, especially the brown ones with the whites soles look really Granny like. They're not very flattering shoes and look like the sort of shoe you would wear in the garden whilst taking the rubbish out. Although, that is just my opinion and I am already proving myself wrong because I saw a pair in New Look the other day and thought they looked absolutely beautiful, and thus couldn't stop looking at them.
Another trend that I am not too sure about is the coat dress. I think that putting a long coat on without anything on underneath looks like you've forgotten to put anything on or didn't have time, and neither looks appeal to me.
The final trend that I'm not sure will ever grow on me is the wide-leg trouser. For some people this will really suit, but because I have quite a slim but tall body shape, I'll look totally drowned in them. Not only that, but I would find them so irritating flapping around my legs, especially as it is so windy here in Britain at the moment.

Wisdom Wednesday #8

Hello Everybody,
I have another Wisdom Wednesday post for you all today and this topic is something that I was meant to do for a long time, but I forgot about it, so when I was flicking back through my notebook and found this I was like 'booya' this weeks topic sorted!!
We all want to be perfect, lets all face it, no matter how many times people say "Without imperfections everybody would be the same." we still strive for perfection. What people do not realise is how unhappy perfectionism makes them.
Whether the spacing between the words of your writing has to be exactly the same, or you beat yourself up every time you get a question wrong, you are being a perfectionist. What people do not realise is that perfectionism leads to self confidence issues.
Even I can admit myself is that I am too afraid to say an answer in class sometimes because I am scared I will get it wrong. I want to be seen as perfect, but without making mistakes I wouldn't learn anything *as cliché as it might be*.
Imagine everybody being perfect. You can't can you? Every bodies perfect is different which means it's impossible to be perfect. Your perfectionism is weighing you down, making you anxious and making you feel like a terrible person. Stop comparing yourself with others and be yourself.
There is nothing wrong with imperfections as long as you are the best version of you. I'm not saying that you shouldn't give up on improvements, but live in the now, tell yourself that you won't always be as good as you want to be, you can't be good at everything, but at least you tried, and there is room to improve, but there is also TIME to improve.

My Spring/Summer fashion loves

Hello Everybody,
Today's post is going to be the first part of a two part post, the second part will be up on Thursday and will be about my dislikes of the latest fashion trends, but today I will be talking about what I love.
One trend which I have fallen head over heels for is the pastel colour trend. I already love my candyfloss pinks, mint greens and sky blue colours anyway, so when I heard that these colours were in again I was so excited. Pastel colours are so girly and me, so of course I am so excited for spring and summer time now. Unfortunately , I have to wait a little longer because it is still stormy Britain where I will at the moment.
I am also loving how big denim is this season. I have already invested in some short dungarees, but certainly want to buy a denim dress, although I am struggling to find one that is affordable enough for me at the moment.
My final trend love at the moment is the bomber jacket. I think that it so cool that these are back in and I really want to purchase myself a floral pastel one because I think it will look super adorable with the majority of my wardrobe.

My week on Instagram #3

Hello Everybody,
Today I thought I thought I would share with you my week on instagram again as I know quite a few of you enjoyed this post last week. I will make a pre-warning that there are more selfies than usual, but I had a week off school, therefore I thought I would spam my followers with my face, aha!
Sooo... Lets do a quick run down of my week, because it can be something I can look back on to, considering I am the worlds worst diary writer.

Sunday 16th February 2014

Ermm... What did I do on this day? I actually cannot remember. I think I had quite a quiet day at home, and I had a very early dinner because my dad and brother went to the cinema together so we ate before they went out. Mum and I also went on a little walk around the estate for some fresh air because I hadn't been out all day. I picked up some popcorn on my travels so that mum and I could enjoy them whilst watching Call the Midwife. Of course, after Call the Midwife I rushed upstairs to watch Mr Selfridge.

Monday 17th February 2014

I had a nice day out with my mum and brother on this day. We went to a local Chinese buffet restaurant thing, where I showed off my amazing chopstick skills, you would've been impressed (ps: as you have no idea how I sound whilst typing this I thought I would add that I am in now way being sarcastic). I then had a little look in Dorothy Perkins where I found the most beautiful top for just a fiver reduced from £20. I'm not even sure it was meant to be in the sale because my mum went to one later in the week and said it was still £20 there. But I'm not complaining.

Tuesday 18th February 2014

I spent the day with my friend Kerry because we were helping each other come up with ideas for our narrative writing retake. I've decided to use the title The Gift for mine, and I'm hoping my grade will improve from my last two tries. I then went to hockey training later that evening, which I surprisingly really enjoyed, although it did overrun which annoyed my dad, sorry dad.

Wednesday 19th February 2014

During the day I had my friends Emily and Kelly round my house. We planned to make a den and eat lots of food and watch Aladdin, but in the end we just ate lots of food, which consisted of sweets, crisps and chocolate. We are a healthy bunch aren't we? We also had a little chat. Later on I went to my friend Katie's house for a little chat, like all best friends have. We actually had a lovely chat in the end, and what was only going to last for ten minutes lasted for two and a half hours. Oops... All I can say is that, I suppose I am a good talker. Having a proper heart to heart with your friends can sometimes be really important, it can make you become better people and also save friendships.

Thursday 20th February 2014

My friend Becca came round and we watched Despicable Me 2, because if you know me, you'll know that me and in fact my dad are quite obsessed with Despicable Me, I'm not going to lie. Dave the minion and Agnes are my two favourite characters. Then, whilst I had one of my grandad's surprise soups (as in, I am never sure what flavour they are) and Becca had a cheese toastie we sat and watched some curling, their shoes really fascinate me.

Friday 21st February 2014

I went round Becca's house this time, with Louisa, Katie and Kerry. We had a lovely day, which consisted in my case, of a Gregg's hot sausage roll and some sweet & salted popcorn *yummy*. We then watched the Men's curling final, which team GB were in, and although they were very disappointed at themselves for loosing, I think they should be very proud of their silver medals, because lets face it, they are in the minority there; not many people could win silver medals at the olympics.

Saturday 22nd February 2014

Finally, the day I had been waiting for all week. Emily, Kelly and I got an early train into a local town and did a spot of shopping. I ended up getting a few things for myself, including the most adorable dungarees from River Island which I cannot wait to wear once the weather warms up. Later, we met up with the rest of the group, Becca, Louisa, Katie, Laura and Kerry and we all split up to go for dinner. I went to KFC and had a Zinger Burger meal, mmm healthy ;) We then all went to the arcade and Katie and I had our photos taken in a photo booth. Then everybody tried really hard to win a minion on one of those crane machines, for a friend of ours who isn't well. We then went bowling, sporting our ever so cool Mario names, I was Toadette, aha.

That brings me to now, but as nothing has happened today yet, so I will leave that until next week. Although, do not expect anything to extravagant happening next week because I'll be at school for most of it. I had a lovely half term, and now on to the hard work at school.
Also, don't forget to follow me on instagram for more pictures like these.

Embakes// Blueberry Cupcakes

Hello Everybody,
I'm doing another Embakes post for you today, and this time it is my own recipe for a change *cheers*. I'm actually very excited about showing you this recipe as it was originally an experiment which actually turned out very well.

Ingredients

For the cupcakes
125g unsalted butter
125g caster sugar
2 eggs, beaten
125g self raising flour
2tbsp baking powder
1 punnet of blueberries

For Buttercream Icing
150g unsalted butter, softened
3tbsp whole milk
1 punnet of blueberries
450g icing sugar

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 190'c and line a cupcake tray with 12 cases.
  2. In a large bowl cream together the caster sugar and unsalted butter together until light and fluffy.
  3. Gradually beat in the beaten eggs a little at a time, adding a small amount of flour if the mixture starts to curdle.
  4. Then sift in the remaining flour and baking powder until the mixture is smooth and then carefully cream the blueberries into the mixture.
  5. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown and bounce back to touch. Leave them to cool completely.
  6. Beat the butter and icing sugar together until creamy, then add the milk and cream into the icing mixture.
  7. Next beat the blueberries into the buttercream until they start to squash slightly and the colour starts infusing into the buttercream.
  8. Finally, pipe the buttercream onto the cupcakes with a classic swirl, or a rosette. If you can't do that, spread the buttercream on with a palette knife in circular movements to help put an even coat onto the cakes.
  9. Then eat.
I hope you enjoyed this recipe and if you recreate this I would love to see them. Either tweet me at @blogsemilybelle or tag me on instagram @dansonemily.

Highstreet Vs Highend makeup #2014bloggerchallenge

Hello Everybody,
It's another #2014bloggerchallenge post today and I am not letting this challenge defeat me even though this weeks topic is something that I am not going to find easy. I'm not going to make you wait for whether Highstreet or highend makeup wins for me because you probably already know that highstreet wins for me purely because that is all I can afford as a teenager in full time education.
I look like a bit of a weirdo in this, but I spent ages editing this picture so be nice ;)
Of course, I have an ever growing wishlist of highend products that I would love to buy, but personally I think my highstreet makeup collection tides me over  fine and I am perfectly happy with it, but I am going to write you a shortish highend wishlist.
For me highstreet only wins this debate because that is all I can afford. As much as highend makeup is absolutely beautiful, I'd rather not be paying over £20 for a blusher.

My wishlist:

Benefit Rockateur blush
Benefit Porefessional
Benefit They're real mascara
Urban Decay Naked 3 palette
YSL Touche éclat concealer
MAC eyeshadow in shroom, cranberry, pink venus, passionate, woodwinked and espresso
MAC powder blush in well dressed, dollymix and mocha
MAC lipstick in So Chaud and Vegas Volt
MAC mineralize skin finish in Soft & Gentle

I want all of these products so much, but as you can imagine it would cost me a fortune to buy everything, but I'm sure I'll treat myself to some in the near future, and I want to buy some nicer bits for my prom in the summer. At the moment though I'm going to stick with Maybelline cosmetics and other such brands.

Wisdom Wednesday #7

Hello Everybody,
This weeks Wisdom Wednesday post is going to be about smiling and generally being happy. I'm pretty sure we have all heard people say, "smile it's good for you" plenty of times in our lives, but if we truly think about it, we don't do it much do we?
Smiling to most people is something that you do when you are laughing at a funny joke or taking a selfie, but how often do we genuinely smile? The other day, sitting in the back of the car on the way to a relatives house whilst listening to music and watching the world wizz past me, I realised I was smiling. The smile was genuine because I didn't even realise I was doing it for the most past, I was enjoying every little thing. Then I looked around the rest of my car, everyone was expressionless, not because they were being miserable, because we were all in a pretty good mood. I then got thinking about how often people actually smile when there isn't anything massive to be smiling about.
Smiling lifts our moods, instantly makes people look more beautiful and makes other people feel good also. I'm not talking about those silly half smiles, I am talking about proper cheesy teethy smiles. Look in the mirror and smile at yourself, the face smiling back at you makes you feel good doesn't it? It's the same for if you do out in public, smiling at someone can instantly lift their spirits.
I'm not saying that your smile will have to be genuine at first, maybe it won't be. But the more you practice smiling the more likely it will become a real feeling. Research shows that smiling isn't a cause of happiness, but happiness is a cause of smiling, so what are you frowning at? Let the corners of you mouth turn up, your cheeks lift and your eyes crinkle, it is good for you.
Feeling happy isn't just restricted to our brain, our body can help enforce our happiness as well. Even Charles Darwin said,  “The free expression by outward signs of an emotion intensifies it” So I guess if you don't believe me, perhaps you will believe a very clever and famous scientist instead.
Being happy is healthy, it's good for your psychological health, thus why we should smile, because it makes us happy. This proves that smiling is good for you.

Lush's Candy Mountain Bubble Bar Review

Hello Everybody,
I know that you can no longer buy Lush's candy mountain as it is a Christmas product, but I thought I should do a review, because I am sure they'll have it out next year and I wanted to do this review when my opinion was still fresh in my mind.
Literally, I was so impressed with this bubble bar, I have never used a bubble bar before, and I don't really know why, but I suppose I just thought Lush's bath ballistics were less hassle. The Lush Candy Mountain smells very much like snow fairy, which in my opinion smells of candy-floss and bubblegum, which is very yummy. I love my sweet scents so this bubble bar was certainly right up my street.
Another thing I was amazed about is the amount of bubbles this product produces. Literally, if you crumble it properly under a running tap the bubble bar produces more bubbles than a regular bubble bath soap. I was so amazed, and so happy, because I absolutely love bubble baths.
Not only did the Candy Mountain make my bath full of bubbles it also turned the water pink, which is always cool, even the bubbles had a slight pink sheen in them. Of course think this is great because you probably know this already, but I love the colour pink, my wardrobe, bedroom and everything is pretty much pink *not crazy pink, but there's a lot of it*.
Overall, I love this product and it was definitely worth the money, and I sincerely hope that it'll be out next Christmas and I will be stocking up on enough to last me until the Christmas after.

My week on Instagram #2

Hello Everybody,
Absolutely ages ago I did a post about my instagram, including pictures and seemed to go down quite well with my readers, so I thought perhaps I should do it a bit more, and a Sunday seems like a good day to do it.

This includes some of this weeks photos but if you do want to keep up to date then you can follow me on my instagram. I have really enjoyed using instagram so far this year and I love showing you guys a few of my favourite things going on in my life right now.
I have had a pretty good week actually, I mean, I wouldn't say that school was my highlight but, I've done some baking, had Emily (yes, one of my besties has the same name as me) round for some baking, made my parents a Valentines meal, and even read Company magazine for the first time ever, and realised that I love it. I cannot wait for next months issue when Zoella is on the front cover, because lets face it, she is an absolute inspiration to many girls my age, especially us bloggers. But that's enough of me having a mini fangirling moment because I know how annoying it can get.
I hope you all have a wonderful week, and if you enjoyed this post and please comment below if you want to see more, and follow me on instagram *hint hint*.

Embakes// Rasoberry and Apple Turnover

Hello Everybody,
I hope you all had a lovely Valentines yesterday, and are happy that it is finally the weekend. I am doing yet another Embakes post for you today because I thoroughly enjoy baking and I love showing you some of my favourite recipes.

Ingredients

1 small eating apple
250g raspberries
3tbsp caster sugar, plus extra to sprinkle
450g ready made puff pastry
flour, for dusting
1 egg white
2tbsp semolina

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 190'c. Place a silicone sheet on a baking sheet. Peel, core and cut the apple into to small dice. Place in a bowl and add the raspberries and caster sugar. Toss to combine.
  2. Divide the pastry into two and roll out 1 piece to 9 x 12in. Cut into 9 rectangles, each measuring 3 x 4in. Place on the silicone sheet. Beat the egg white with 1tsp water and brush over the pastry. Sprinkle a little semolina onto the centre of each then top with the raspberry mixture. (The semolina stops the pastry from getting the dreading soggy bottom if you were wondering)
  3. Roll out the remaining pastry to a slightly larger rectangle and then cut into 9 smaller rectangles. Cut 4-5 slits into the centre of each of the rectangles and place over the raspberry topped pastries to cover the filling, pressing down the edges well to seal.
  4. Brush the tops of the pastry with egg white and sprinkle with a little caster sugar. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is crisp and golden. Serve hot or cold.
This recipe was taken and adapted by Baked & Delicious volume 76. I hope you enjoy.

Situation Single

Hello Everybody,
It is Valentines Day tomorrow and I am sure there will be a lot of you at a loose end either feeling sorry for yourself or just being bored out of your mind because you do not have a Valentine. Today I thought I would share with you a few ideas of what to do tomorrow if you are in "Situation Single" and I will also be sharing with you how I will be spending my evening tomorrow.

Idea One (what I am doing)

Tomorrow my plan is to make my Mum and Dad a romantic meal, because I do love a bit of cooking, and I thought it would be sweet for me to make it instead of my Mum this year to they can spend some quality time together. I will also probably sit down with some Lindt Lindor Strawberries & Cream truffles, which are absolutely delicious and I highly recommend., and will  read a few of my favourite magazines which are the Glamour magazine and the Company magazine, both of which you should buy because they are great.
Knowing me I will then end up window shopping online purely because the magazines would've made me want to buy loads of things, although I will try to not to hit the purchase button on anything, because I do need to save a bit of money for Spring/Summer.

Idea Two

Have you got a big group of girl friends that are "Situation Single" too? I recommend going out for a meal with them and just generally having a good laugh together. Although, I would make a table reservation now because restaurants will be busy. You could even do a spot of fun ten pin bowling before hand, just to make the trip even more exciting.

Idea Three

If you are on a bit more of a tighter budget, how about having a spa night around one of your friends houses instead? Grab some face masks from your local supermarket or pharmacy (drugstore); collect together a bunch of nail polishes; even grab some popcorn and a good chick-flick. This will be great fun and a nice girly social event for all of your friends.

Idea Four

My final idea is to do a bit of baking. Whether you want to make it Valentines themed or not, there are so many things you could bake and it's a great way of putting your mind off of being single. I find baking so super relaxing and it will certainly put you in better spirit.

I hope some of these ideas have helped you come up with some ideas of what to do if you are in "Situation Single" this Valentines Day. Please comment below if you use any of these ideas, or if you are doing something different.

Wisdom Wednesday #6

Hello Everybody,
Yep, it's that time of the year again when everybody natters on about their partners and that they are going for a romantic meal and night out at the cinema on Valentine's day and yet again, you are going to be at home feeling sorry for your single self.
I found a similar quote but decided to use a lighthouse. Don't ask me why, it was just a cute photograph.
It's true, a lot of us won't always be lucky in love and perhaps struggle to get guys to fall for us, but that doesn't mean we should just decide to take a back seat. To be honest, I am not looking for a relationship at the moment but I thought I would make this post because I am sure plenty of you are sitting there with a box of tissues wondering why it's always you stuck at home feeling sorry for yourself on Valentine's.
It is perfectly normal for a person to give up, but have you ever thought that maybe waiting for your perfect guy may not be working for you? Unfortunately, boys just are too shy to approach girls nowadays, which means, I'm sorry for all of you traditionalists out there but it may be down to you to start flirting with your crush first instead.
One thing I should add if you follow my piece of advice though is to ensure you aren't too clingy. That will scare a guy off and you really do not want that if you went into the effort of even approaching the boy in the first place.
Just remember, sometimes waiting around is just not going to happen. Get out there, find who you've been waiting for, he could be anywhere. Boys can be just as shy as us, so don't feel like they are always obliged to approach you.

Maybelline's The Rocket Volume Express Mascara

Hello Everybody,
Cue the music for  a Cult makeup review... Yep, I know, everyone and their mother *or at least my mother* has this mascara, but that still doesn't mean that it doesn't need any more hype. I've had The Rocket mascara by Maybelline for a while now, and I am absolutely devoted to it. If you haven't bought it yet, then why not? Believe me, after this review you may be asking the same question, because there is going to be nothing but love here on my blog today.
Okay, so some of you may be wondering what all of the hype is about, it's just a highstreet mascara, with a rather cheap looking plastic brush and  not very glamorous looking packaging? It's true, the product lives up to it's price lookswise, but hey, you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover *cliché much*.
Honestly, I wouldn't have even considered this mascara without the world of YouTube and Blogging drawing me in. Compared to most other highstreet mascaras I actually think the packaging looks rather cheap, but then again most mascara tubes look in all respects hideous. For me mascara has always been one of those things I do not like buying, it's not like you can swatch them in the shop.
Anyhow, I have actually fallen in love with this product, much like I have with most of Maybelline's other products. Firstly, the volume is unbelievable. I'm no expert in makeup at all so I was actually reasonable shocked by getting such volume by a wand that was rather fat with the worlds shortest bristles. To me it just looked like it was going to clump up my lashes and look rather unattractive, but I knew that couldn't be the truth considering The Rocket had been soooo hyped over.
I have the waterproof formula, because being a teenage girl you never know when you may have a tearful moment, and the lasting power is incredible. Literally, the mascara doesn't move from the moment I put it on to the moment I take it off, so much so that it is a bit of a struggle to remove.
I highly recommend this product to anyone that is new to makeup or is on a budget and can't afford anything posh *yep, that is definitely me*. I certainly think that it is worth the £7.99 price tag, especially considering it is a fairly large tube.

EmBakes// Cinnamon Sugar Biscuits

Hello Everybody,
It has been absolutely ages since I have done an EmBakes post, but since I have been drowning in catering coursework I haven't really had a chance to bake, but since I have now completed my practical exam I have been using my down time at weekends to bake more. Thus, the good news for you is that this series is back and better than ever. Today I am going to tell you how I made some Cinnamon Sugar Biscuits which were absolutely delicious.

Ingredients

  • 125g strong plain flour, plus extra for kneading.
  • 1/2tsp sea salt
  • 125g butter
  • about 5tbsp ice cold water
  • 2tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2tsp ground cinnamon
  • a little beaten egg white

Equipment

  • silicone baking sheet
  • metal baking sheet
  • silicone pastry brush

Method

  1. Sift the flour and salt into a large bowl. Roughly break the butter in small chunks, add them to bowl and rub them in lightly until the mixture resembles very coarse breadcrumbs. You will still be able to see bits of butter in the mixture at this stage.
  2. Make a well in the centre of the ingredients and pour in about 4tbsp of the cold water, mixing until you have a firm dough, adding extra water if needed. Cover and chill for about 20 minutes.
  3. Turn out onto a lightly floured board, knead gently and form into a smooth rectangle. Roll the dough, until you have a 12 x 6in rectangle. The butter should give the pastry a marbled effect.
  4. Fold the top third down to the centre, then the bottom third up and over that *as if you were folding a leaflet*. Give the dough a quarter turn (45 degrees) and roll out again until it reaches the original dimensions. (I went straight onto baking here, but that was because I was being lazy, if you want to do it just like me skip the next step).
  5. Fold as before and then repeat the rolling and folding 1 more time. Cover and chill for at least 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 190'c.
  6. Place the silicone sheet onto a baking sheet. Roll out pastry again until you have a rectangle that is 5 x 20in. Prick the pastry all over with a fork. Combine the sugar and cinnamon together. Brush the pastry all over with beaten egg white and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly over the pastry. Cut into 30 fingers. Place on the baking sheet, slightly spaced.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until risen and golden. Allow to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Finally, eat and enjoy, they taste amazing.
I have taken this recipe from the Baked and Delicious Magazine copy 77, but have adapted a few bits, just so you know that this is not my own recipe, but I wanted to share it with you because it was such a lovely one.

OOTD// Saturday Night Disco

Hello Everybody,
I decided that I would do another OOTD for you today as my last one was 2 weeks ago and I am still continuing with this New Years Resolution. Basically,a few weeks ago I went to a disco, and this is what I wore...
Apologies for the not so great quality.
I wore a sheer light pink flowy blouse, which has a tie up at the front at the top of the buttons from New Look. It is sleeveless and very slightly high-lo, and I really love it. I also wore some disco pants from Miss Selfridge, which are the best fitting disco pants ever. I love my disco pants, and I liked the fact that they made me feel very comfortable when on the dance floor. Often when going to discos I wear a skirt and feel very aware that it might fly up and I may flash, so wearing disco pants seemed so much more appropriate. On my feet I wore my white converse boots, with some frilly topshop socks poking out of them. They were so comfortable and easy to dance in, and definitely a preferable pair of shoes to wear instead of heels. The socks gave them a bit more of a dressing up feel, as I felt that the shoes alone looked too casual.

Wisdom Wednesday #5

Hello Everybody,
I cannot believe this is my fifth post for Wisdom Wednesday already. I think I have decided this will be a 10 week series and then I will have a mini break and do a different series before coming back to this in between, because it is nice to have a change for a little while to keep our minds fresh. But, enough with my rambling and lets jump straight into my 5th Wisdom Wednesday post, marking my midpoint for the first series...
Now, I know the picture of a heart and a castle may not seem relevant to this quote, much like many of the other picture in my series, but let me explain... The quote, "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you imagined." Can be read in a number of ways, but the one that I specifically want to mention in this post today is the big L word... LOVE. It's February now, and with Valentine's day less than a couple of weeks away February is the month of love. The love heart represents love itself and the castle represents every girls dream of living in a castle.
As a 16 year old of course I have simple crushes. But what many of us don't think about is that if we can imagine being with someone, and don't take any steps to getting there, how is anybody meant to know that we like them?
Last year I took a very untraditional risk and sent a Valentine's card to somebody that I fancied, but not in the childish way in which you put a question mark at the bottom, but I actually signed my own name and wrote a little message inside. To be honest, I don't recommend this because although this boy and I did meet a few times, we never really spoke, and they just involved me watching him play basketball for the whole time. If you really like somebody, why don't you just start talking to the person, dropping subtle hints and being a bit more flirty with them. You can't live your dreams unless you take a step to get there, and being able to talk is a massive step.
Moving on from love, you need to confidently follow all of your dreams, be it your dream job or simply being able to make an apple pie without a soggy bottom. If you are not confident when following dreams you will not fulfil them to the best of your ability. Don't be afraid to follow your dreams because of want others say, be confident in what you believe in, because that is what is most important and it is the best way you will live the life in which you always imagined.

DIY Brush Cleanser and How I Clean My Makeup Brushes

Hello Everybody,
Today I have decided to do my first ever "sort of" DIY post for you. In this post I will showing you how I clean my makeup brushes , and how I make the cleanser to clean them with. Everything used in this post are easy things that you can find around the house, hence forth it is easy peasy for both you and I to do.
First of all you will need...
  1. Dirty"ish" makeup brushes.
  2. A towel
  3. A small dessert plate
  4. Antibacterial liquid hand soap
  5. Extra virgin/virgin olive oil

 1. First of all you need to pour about two tablespoons of olive oil onto you dessert plate. Do not worry about measuring because to be honest the amount doesn't count for much. I use the olive oil to help condition the synthetic hairs on the brushes.

2. Put a few pumps of the liquid hand soap on top of the olive oil and stir. The hand soap is the thing that kills any bacteria and horrible stuff that may be on your brushes *this is why we have to clean them*.

 3. Swirl your brush around on the plate to get the mixture onto your brush, or alternatively if you are trying to be sparing with you ingredients, put a bit of mixture on to the tips of your fingers and gently massage it on to the end of the brush until it starts to look a bit foamy.
 4. Rinse under a tap using you fingers to scrub out any of the mixture. It is important that you do not get the part of the brush where the hair meets the handle too wet, because this could loosen the glue in your brush and it might start falling apart.
 5. Put the brush on to the towel to drip dry, because we don't want to be using damp makeup brushes do we?
 6. Repeat the process with the rest of the brushes, ensuring we get every bit of dirt off of them. You may need to replace the olive oil and liquid soap mixture a few times, as this can pick up the dirt and become unclean itself.
 7. Finally, pat dry with the towel, being very gentle because we do not want to misshapen the brushes, afterwards you will want to leave the brushes wrapped in a towel for a good few hours to ensure all of the moisture is removed from them.
And there you have it, that is how I clean my brushes. I hope you enjoyed this post because it wasn't easy to put together, but I  am pleased with it. If you would like me to do similar posts please comment below recommendations because although this post took slightly longer to put together it was very enjoyable at the same time. See you tomorrow.

What's happening on my blog?

Hello Everybody,
I thought it would be a good idea to share with you a few things that are going on on my blog at the moment, this is a going to be a very short post, but the aim of this post is to make your experience on my blog just that little bit easier and better.
Firstly, you will notice that my blog design is looking a bit more snazzy as I wanted to add a header, and make it look a little bit more professional than it already was. Although I am not 100% happy with my blog design at the moment but it will do for now and it is so much easier to read than it used to be.
I also have a contact me page now if anybody needs to get hold of me. But if you want to know what I am getting up to then you can find me on TwitterInstagram and Facebook, so if you haven't already I highly recommend you check out these pages.
I have also decided to be a bit more organised with my labels. You can find my labels below every blog post, but they will now only include... Review, Haul, Life, Wisdom Wednesdays, EmBakes, ootd, #2014bloggerchallenge, favourites and diy. If I add any more to my list I will let you know, but that will most probably only happen if I start a new series.
I hope that gives you enough of a run down about my blog for now.

Once upon a time... #2014bloggerchallenge

Hello Everybody,
This is going to be quite a short post today, as it is getting quite late at the point of me writing this, but this weeks #2014bloggerchallenge post theme is Once upon a time... Which is about our favourite books.
My favourite book at the moment is The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, it is such a heartfelt and moving book and I have never felt so much like I am there, in the story in my whole life. I read this book in about 5 days, which is pretty insane for me, but it had such a good flow and fast paced storyline that I just couldn't put it down.
Another thing I loved about this book was the little messages inside it; there were so many inspirational quotes used, but I'm not going to list them all now, because that could make this post a very long one, when I simply do not have the time.
I also love the fact that although this book is very moving and emotional *yes, I did shed a few tears* the humour is so good. It makes me feel like the character is actually sharing their humour with me, which obviously makes me even more gripped to the book. Overall, I love this book and I would highly recommend it to anybody, no matter what genre you prefer reading, because this book suits all reading tastes.
