Summer Shoe Collection #2014bloggerchallenge

I've probably sat here for the past hour or so pondering on what is really classed as a collection. For example, how many of something do you have to have before it can be called a collection? And, can a collection be absolutely anything? This had me thinking, I don't really have a collection any more. Any more meaning that I used to have a little dolls house collection until I realised that miniature furniture is almost the same price as ordinary sized furniture, which is absolutely barbaric if you ask me.
To be honest, I'm not really sure my summer shoe collection is really a collection, but I was feeling a tad lazy when it came to taking pictures and decided that four would be enough. Besides, these are probably going to be my most worn shoes this summer.
My first shoes in this collection are shoes that I wear all year round. and are my white converse. I think white converse are so versatile, and go with all sorts of outfits. Be it jeans, disco pants, shorts, a skirt or even a summer dress these shoes never fail to look good. I love them, and apart from the fact I do need to give them a wipe down they are absolutely perfect. Literally, I live in my white converse.
The next shoes in my little summer shoe collection are my black Juju jelly shoes, and OMG I love these things! They look so adorable with shorts or skirts, and look super cute with or without socks. I love pairing these with little frilly socks, especially white ones because it has a cute monochrome contrast. Similarly with my Black T-bars from Topshop, these are also super adorable and look really nice with white frilly socks too. Not only that, But they are great to wear to parties when I really want to dance and cannot be bothered to wear heels and have sore feet the next day.
The final shoes in this collection are the cute sandals. I haven't actually worn them yet this season, but I know with painted toenails I will be wearing them through most of my holiday this year. They look absolutely lovely with a summer dress, and are quite girly and boho which is very much my style.
I hope this collection is okay although it wasn't much of a collection and I will speak to you all on Sunday with my May Favourites.

Whittlebury Hall

If you follow me on Twitter *cheeky plug you know* you will know that last weekend I went to a spa called Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire for the weekend with my nana, mum and auntie for my nana's birthday. I had such a lovely and relaxing weekend which was a great break from the exams that I had.
When we first got there we dropped our bags off in the hotel and then went to our lockers and put on our flip flops and cosy dressing gowns. We then went to the heat and ice experience which was so fun. There was a hydrotherapy pool, saunas, different types of steam rooms, an ice cave, hot beds, hot seats and even an ice bucket. My auntie pranked me and got me to stand right under where the bucket poured; I'm pretty sure I screamed so loud and disturbed every bodies spa experience, but it was funny. They also had ice flannels that had fruit infused in them and they were super nice to refresh your face.

After spending over an hour in the heat experience we had  a chill by the pool, and read the mountains of magazines we had bought with us, which was my kind of cup of tea. We then had a buffet lunch which was so yummy and high standard. After that we went upstairs ready for our treatments. Whilst waiting I had the most lovely hot chocolate. I then had my Clarins facial, which was so relaxing and made my skin feel so nice. At the end of the treatment they recommended to me a few products that they used, and as much as I was tempted to buy everything, I resisted it because I knew I needed to save my money for clothes ready for sixth form.
After we were all chilled from a lovely spa experience we went to our rooms for a little chill, and to get ready for our dinner. I probably laid on the bed reading my magazines for a good hour or so before decided to have a shower and to get ready for the evening. I wore my coral Hollister dress, which has crotchet detailing along the waist and around the back; because it was quite summery I decided to just keep my hair down and natural and only use minimal makeup.
The dinner was absolutely lovely. I had a salmon starter, a pork main course and a strawberry tart for dessert. The only slight disappointment was the dessert because it was meant to be served with a raspberry macaron (the main reason why I ordered it) but it was served with a raspberry sorbet, it was still nice though.
Afterwards we went to the bar and watched a bit of Britain's Got Talent, and then found Diane Parish (who plays Denise Fox on Eastennders) wondering the building. It was so funny, and I'm not going to lie, but my nana got a bit over excited.
This post is in no way sponsered but I thought I would leave the link to their website here, just in case you were interested in this place and want to find out more. By the way, I highly recommend going here if you want a girly, relaxing weekend away *of course, men can go too*.
I hope you enjoyed another "lifey" post from me today. Again, I apologise that my posts aren't very consistent at the moment, but I promise everything will be back to normal after my exams.

A little update, because why not?

Well... It's been a while since I have actually typed up a blog post (yes, I've been scheduling for a while) but I have been busy with exams. I am so glad that I have a 10 day break from them though, it feels so good knowing that I don't have to sit in an exam room for two hours tomorrow. Although, I am still deciding whether I can be bothered to take my literature books back to school tomorrow or just stay in bed, I'd much prefer the latter.
Sorry for small picture, I've been having some
technical issues!!
In all seriousness though, my exams are actually going okay. I'm glad I started revising early because it has meant that I haven't come out of any of my exams thinking "Well, I'll be in that resit class next year." Although, I don't want to count my chickens. But to anybody that has to take an exam in the future, remember you won't die and as much as you think you need a pee, you don't. I have definitely found these exams easier to deal with than I expected.
Today was probably the worst though, I'm not going to lie. An hour and a half of Geography and two hours of English Literature... imagine the hand cramp *it was excruciating*. Also, if you don't know already I am extremely frightened of thunder and in the middle of the literature exam a big thunder storm went over us. Honestly, I thought that I would have to hide under the exam desk. Other than that though, I don't think any of them have been a complete and utter disaster. But if you do feel that way, then here is a cute picture to cheer you up...
Hehe!!
I hope you are all doing well, and if you want to see anything from me after my exams are finished then please send me requests because I want to do a bit more for you guys.

MAC Pearlfusion Pastelux Review

I have a little review for for you all today of a product that I have actually had in my possession for a fair while now, but haven't quite had chance to review it yet, so here it is.
It is a shimmery palette that you can buy from MAC for I believe £30. It is so super gorgeous and perfect for a touch of glam on any makeup look. One thing I would say about this palette is that it isn't really very pigmented, but the glitter sticks so well. This means that these eyeshadows are great for using on top of eye makeup looks.
The bottom green eyeshadow however is a bit more pigmented and looks lovely used in the crease. It is like an evergreen colour, and looks lovely and springy. One suggestion when using these colours though is to apply the eye makeup before your face base, because there is a little bit of fall out and you do not want to look like a disco ball.

Herbal Essence Beautiful Ends #2014bloggerchallenge

Hehe!! Isn't funny that on Monday I made the point in saying that I wouldn't be blogging as much, which of course is true. But I do not want to fail the #2014bloggerchallenge, for which I am thoroughly enjoying, therefore I will be continuing with it. For this the topic was to talk about hair care, etc.
To be honest, my hair care isn't anything special, although I do want to start looking after it more, I currently do not have the time *curse you exams!!*. With that being said, I will probably treat it more before my prom and during the summer holidays, when I have the time and money to do so. But, enough of me blabbering on about why my hair care is so atrociously lazy, and lets talk about my shampoo and conditioner.

For my shampoo and conditioner I use Herbal Essences beautiful ends shampoo and conditioner. This is supposed to fix damaged or split ends or prevent them from occurring. As, I use minimal heat on my hair and trim it every 12 weeks, split ends do not really effect me, but it is nice to have extra strength in them.
Also, if you didn't know already I am in the middle of growing my hair out from a really short pixie cut. The process is long and tedious but after 2 and a half years I will not give up. My hair is past my armpits now, which to me is long, but not long enough. Therefore, this combination is perfect for my hair, because it leaves it silky smooth and healthy.

First Blogiversary!!

Happy Birthday!!
Today is my blogs first birthday and I literally cannot believe it. It really doesn't feel like I've been blogging for that long, but it has probably been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. Not once have I seen blogging as a chore, it is just an amazing hobby. And I am so happy about where it has got me too.
Source: Weheartit
When I started my blog I never really imagined myself in a years time still blogging. At the time I just started it as a little bit of an outlet. Somewhere, where I could let my musings run wild. I was a lot less confident and was still stepping into the world of fashion and beauty. Now I feel confident in my personal style, happy to talk to people I barely know and feel like I have grown as a person. Another thing I didn't think would happen in a years time last year was master the eyeliner flick, but I am proud to say I can do it with ease now. At least, I have time to do it before school.
Another thing that makes me proud are you. I never thought I'd get 50 followers, let alone over 150 followers. That is a lot of people. If I was standing in front of that many people saying this, I would be trembling. And I just want to say thank you.
Now for the sad bit, boo!! I'm going to have to blog a little bit less for the next month, but I have a valid reason before you all go mad. Today my GCSEs start. Yep! At 1pm today I will be sitting a French exam, and from then until June 13th I will have a lot of exams, 16 to be exact, so I sort of need to be putting my head down. But, do not worry, I will be posting every Sunday (or at least trying) and will be keeping you all updated on twitter. I will also be trying my best at sticking with the #2014bloggerchallenge.
If that made you sad please do not leave. I have an exciting thing happening after my exams, hopefully, and if you stick with me then you can be part of this exciting stuff too. For now, I am keeping it Top Secret, because it then gives you all a little thing to look forward to, and to be excited for. You should be excited at least because I am. Anyway, the only clue I have is that it is quite big for me, and it is one of the most exciting things that has happened to EmilyBelleBlogs since starting. So don't go or else you will miss out on the best thing ever (or at least that is what I think).
I hope you all understand, and another huge thank you for my best year yet.

Revision Tips

The dreaded time has come... EXAMS!! Yes, that is correct, if any of you are familiar with GCSEs then you will know full well that exams start on Monday (my blog's birthday). Scary stuff I know! Anyway, I thought I would be a kind being and share with you some of my helpful revision tips for you. Yay!
Timetable
I recommend you plan your revision, so you know what to revise and when to revise. It gives you something to stick to and gives you more motivation to revise.
Switch off
Turn off anything that might distract you, turn off your TV and you phone, because they'll only distract you. If your like me and find yourself scrolling though Instagram or watching videos on Youtube, remember you have the whole of the summer for that. It can wait!
Music on
Some people find this distracting, but if like me you hate sitting in silence, turn on some motivational music. There are some great Studying Playlists on Spotify, so have a look on there. You can get the app for free on your phone and listen to music on shuffle.
My Techniques
Take notes from the book. Only write the important stuff. Some little bits of information will not need to be remembered as much as others.
Highlight key points. This is great for looking back over notes the night before the exam.
Write on flash cards. Write keywords on one side and write the definition on the other and then test yourself. I also make Geography Case Study booklets with them and staple them together.
Use coloured pens if you find black or blue pen boring.
Make mind maps, I do this for French Vocabulary, because it is better than making boring lists.
Practice. Practice papers help you to identify what you still need to revise.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Boho Hair and Makeup

Hello Everybody,
I have a little makeup and hair look for you today, although I am not sure whether this will work out or make sense yet, but I'll give it a go, so her you go...
For makeup I used my L'Oreal Touche Magique Foundation and Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer for my base, which gives me a radiant glow. I then put on some Maybelline Fit Me pressed powder on to set the look. Afterwards I did my eyes, using Revlons Attitude palette, Maybelline's gel liner and Maybelline's The Rocket mascara. I used eyelure's eyebrow pencil for my brows. I put my Bourjois bronzer in the hollows of my cheeks, on my temples, and down the sides of my nose. I then used Soap&Glory's Glow all out in my t-zone, on the tops of my cheeks and on my chin to give me a springy glow. Finally, I wore Revlon's Elusive Matte Balm on my lips.
For my hair I did an inverted French braid from one ear to the other, into a bun. Start by getting a small section of hair above your preferred ear and split into three equal sections. Start plaiting upwards (if you don't know how to do it watch a youtube tutorial) but plait backwards, towards the head, rather than forwards, away from the face. Each time add a bit more hair from underneath. Once you get to the end you should have all of your hair in the plait. Keep braiding until you get to the end of your hair and tie with a hair band. Finally, keep wrapping the plait around itself to create a bun shape and secure with bobby pins.

April Favourites

Hello Everybody,
I have an April Favourites post for you today, aren't I good? Not missed a month so far this year. But, I have a confession... I may not do one next month as I have a diary chocablock full of exams.
Beauty
This is going to seem like a really pants product this month, but I want this blog to be completely honest. Therefore, this is going to be completely honest favourite. This month I have been loving Nivea's Pearl Shine lip balm. Firstly because it is really moisturising, but also because it has a lovely nude pink sheen in it, which I think looks really lovely this spring.
Fashion
My Hollister summer dress which is a lovely dress which floral crochet detailing around the middle. Spaghetti straps, and a coral colour that ombr├ęs into a darker orange, which is just such a happy summer colour.
Food
This month I have been really loving Go Ahead Bars. They're really filling and perfect for a snack between meals. My favourite flavour is the yoghurt and raspberry one.
Life
Probably, my favourite thing that happened this month was a sleepover I went on for my friend Louisa's party. It was such a laugh, and definitely worth the tiredness the next day after only an hour or so of dozing that night. Also, there was pizza involved so of course it was going to be awesome.
Music
Well... I am really liking the song Hideaway by kiesza. I want her shoes sooooo bad!!

Easter Get Away- Day Three

Hello Everybody,
Today, I am going to share with you the final part of my Easter adventure, at long last. It feels as if Easter was ages away now, so lets jump straight into these pictures.

On the final day we went to Canterbury. We walked along the wall and then stopped and looked around the outside of an old castle, which bored me a bit because I don't like history (sorry historians) but then again, I got to take nice photographs, therefore I was happy.
After this we went to Canterbury Cathedral, although we didn't go in because it cost so much money. But afterwards we did have a look in some of the shops which was nice. And we found a building with a wonky door.
To finish off our trip we had a McDonalds and then went home.

Music- My favourite EVER song!! #2014bloggerchallenge

Hello Everybody,
How are we all? Today I have another #2014bloggerchallenge post for you and the topic we were given was music. I could've talked about a favourite band, or my current playlist, but I thought I would keep it nice and simple and just talk about my favourite song.
Stronger (what doesn't kill you) by Kelly Clarkson...
Source: Weheartit
Stronger has been my favourite song ever since it was released in October 2011. It was when I was in year 9 at school and I can't think why I loved the song so much but I suppose if I am ever feeling down this song just lifts me up.
The whole song is based on the quote "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." And I suppose it's true. Things happen in life that aren't fair, and test your strength as a person, but if you come out of these battles, you have come out them and better and stronger person. Even you personally will know that when a bad thing happens again it seems slightly easier than the time before.
I believe when something bad happens to me it is good. It is a test, but it is good. Without bad things happening life the good things wouldn't seem good. I also feel like stronger is my motivational song, my pick me up when I am feeling pooey. I have listened to this song a number of times on my lead up to my GCSEs and I'm sure I'll listen to it a number of times more.
I hope you liked this post.
