Sunday Summary #5 and the end of Daily August!!

Hello Everybody,
Today is another Sunday Summary post but also the end of my daily blogging. But, don't threat because I do have some announcements, that might excite you... or might not, at the end of this post. But, before I get to that I thought it would be appropriate for me to summarise my week for the fifth and final time *for now*. Although, I am really wracking my brains as to what I have done this week, however I am sure it'll come to me.

I didn't think I did anything on this day, but according to Twitter I did. So firstly, I managed to successfully shave my legs without drawing blood, which is a big deal for me. I finished a big tub of marshmallows, what? I like them, okay? I then made a cake for my cousin who was having a Teddy Bears Picnic later on in the week. Later in the afternoon I went out with my family to a local pub, where they were holding a fete, so we enjoyed a bit of live music and tombola whilst sipping our drinks in the sunshine. We then grabbed some food, before we went home where we were visited by my cousins so they could pick up the cake.

It was a bank holiday on this day so my family and I went on a day out to a local city, which was very lovely. We wondered around the shops for a while, although I didn't pick anything up as I knew I was going shopping the following week (tomorrow). We then went to Wagamama's and I had a Duck ramen which was indeed delicious; then headed home.

On Tuesday I went to my friend Becca's with my friends Louisa, Katie and Kerry, where we all took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge as we had all been nominated. It was a very cold experience, but a good laugh at the same time.  I did donate by the way, in case anybody is worried about me only doing it to jump on some "cool" bandwagon, because that is not why I did it at all.

On Wednesday my whole family was at home, although we didn't really do tonnes. My mum and I went on our weekly shop, which always nice and refreshing. I then didn't really do a lot apart from be lazy for most of the day. However, I did manage to go through all of my clothes, and fill up a charity bag.

On Thursday Becca, Louisa, Kelly and I went to Kerry's. We had a lovely day just chatting in Kerry's bedroom, and I'm not too sure where the time went to be honest. I also ate a rabbit biscuit, which I do not recommend, and I have no idea why I did it, although it was only the tiniest nibble, so all was fine. We had a good laugh though.

On Friday I did a bit of TV catch up, watching Glee and all of my favourite soaps and medical dramas, I know, I live the best life. Also, I had a pajama day, and those days are always the best, no matter how uninteresting they are.

Yesterday was a pretty good day for me. Firstly my Mum and I went out to pick up my contact lenses from a local Specsavers, and I also finally found the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer which I have been looking to repurchase for months but haven't found anywhere. My mum and I then went to Subway, where I ordered the usual, if you know what it is leave it in the comments below? I then went to my Grandad's for a quick catch up and to give him his Birthday present.
Later in the evening I went to Emily's birthday party, and we had the best evening making s'mores, dancing around, and messing about with bubbles. As well as enjoying a hot dog or two. It was such a perfect evening and it was great to have everyone together.

Now I have summarised this week I guess it's time for the sad bit where I announce that my daily blogs are over. I will continue blogging *obviously* but unfortunately I cannot commit to everyday with Sixth Form and everything. But I have got some exciting things coming up, DIYs, better then ever posts that I am super excited to write, collaborations, and even a secret project I am working on with another blogger.
As well as that I am getting involved with this years #BigBlogmasProject2014 run by the amazing Cole, which means that I will be in fact blogging everyday again, but this time in December with some very wintery and festive topics which I am very, very excited about.
I hope you enjoyed my daily posts, and I thank you all for reading them. Before now 1000 pageviews a month felt incredible to me, but this month I have exceeded 2000 which makes me quite emotional. I also hit over 250 followers which is absolutely crazy, and I really want to thank you all for making me feel so happy about  my blog lately. Over the past month blogging has been a huge part of my life, and I felt like it has really developed and I have learnt to love it more and more. So, THANK YOU xx

August Favourites

I'm casually sitting here right now thinking... It's the last day of August tomorrow, which mean it's the first day of September is on Monday, which also means. SCHOOLS STARTING!! AHHHHH!!!
But, all is fine because the end of August also means a good ol' obligatory favourites post, and I'm excited about it because I've been trying lots of things lately, although I am going to try and keep it concise as I am off to a party very soon. Whoop whoop!

I've been loving a couple of beauty things this month, and the first thing is a lipstick which I reviewed on here a couple of days ago. I've been loving my MAC Speed Dial lipstick this month because the soft fuchsia pink tone is very summery and bright without being too in your face, which I personally think is great for a summer month like August, even though it has taken a cold turn recently.
I have also been loving Neutrogena's Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily scrub. I've been using it for only a short while, but I am already noticing a difference in my skin, as I have been having a bit of spot trouble with it lately. It has been clearing up my breakouts, prevently more and giving my face a gentle exfoliation all at the same time. Who wouldn't want that?

I haven't really  had a fashion favourite this month as I have been wearing pretty much the same stuff as I did in July, so I thought I would talk about my favourite fragrance instead. I have been loving Yankee Candles, Summer Scoop Candle, it is lovely and sweet and fruity, which makes it perfect for this month. My bedroom has certainly been smelling heavenly this month.

Hanging out with friends has been a big thing for me this month. I have been to see Inbetweeners 2 at the cinema *which was rude and very disgusting at some points*. I have been round my friends houses numerous times. Making jelly, consuming lots of Subway and altogether having a good laugh. Speaking of laughs... I did the Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS, which I have donated to and it was all fun and games but it also felt very good that I had been helping out a well deserving cause, you can check it out, along with other things from my life on my Instagram. Also, how could I forget blogging everyday, which I have thoroughly enjoyed and I feel as if my blog has grown so much this month. Over 2000 pageviews isn't bad going!!

Firstly, I have started to develop an unhealthy Subway obsession *thanks Kerry and Becca*. Which I specifically order "A 6" Italian with tuna toasted and then with lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise". I love it!! In fact I introduced my mum to one at lunch today. It was delicious. I have also had a Duck obsession too, consuming it on three different occasions this week. Is that a bit much?

My favourite song of this month is a new release by Taylor Swift called Shake It Off. It's fun, empowering and such a feel good song. Go on, shake it off, it feels good doesn't it? Yep! And that is why it is my favourite song of the month.

I hope you enjoyed my favourites this month and I will be back tomorrow with my final daily blog post from this month.

GUEST POST// Sarah's Iced Coffee

Hello Everybody,
It is the final Friday of this month which means this is my final guest post of this month, although I am sure I will have some guest posters in the future. But, today I have a blogging friend of mine, Sarah posting for me, with an Iced Coffee recipe.

Hey guys, I’m Sarah from MissSarahSpy. First of all, thank you Emily for allowing me to do this post. During the summer, one of my favourite drinks is an iced coffee especially for those days where you want a caffeine boost but can’t handle a hot cup of coffee. In McDonalds, they have a big machine and after watching it and using Trial & Error, I’ve managed to adapt the recipe and make it my own.
The following ingredients are the ones I use; you may change it accordingly(measurements change according to the size of your cup) ;
A cup of coffee,
Ice cubes,
A cup to enjoy your iced coffee in

1)      Brew a cup of coffee normally and add in your sugar/sweetener & milk, then leave to cool (if it doesn’t cool, try putting an ice cube in.
2)      In your blender add in; your ice cubes (I put in 6-8) and the cold coffee. I always add in extra milk and a splash of vanilla for flavouring.
3)      Blend for 30-40 seconds or until you are happy with the consistency.
4)      Serve in a cup or glass and enjoy (or add extras on top that take your fancy)
There we have it. Like most recipes, I didn’t have a guide but made it up so don’t be afraid to try new things or add different things in and if you do make this, please tweet me a picture to @SV_Knight
Thanks Sarah for this awesome recipe, and I will certainly be trying it out, because I love a good bit of iced coffee on a warm day.
I hope you all enjoyed this post, and I will see you tomorrow.

Mac Speed Dial Review

Hello Everybody,
Today I have another MAC lipstick review for you all, as you enjoyed my first MAC lipstick review and I was treated to another one whilst I was on holiday in duty free. I absolutely love this colour as it is super summery, very girly and up my street.

Okay, so obviously I have raved on about how much I love MAC's packaging on my previous MAC lipstick review. But, because I love it just as much I am going to rave on about the packaging even more. I mean, who wouldn't love the sleek black, famous bullet shaped tube that MAC are well known for? It is beautiful, sturdy, and looks very, very glamorous. I believe I have mentioned the one pitfall before and that is the fact that their is only a small sticker on the bottom of each lipstick to identify which one is which. But, that is okay, because if they stuck a big sticker down the side it would look absolutely hideous.

Let's just take a moment to appreciate how amazing the colour of this lipstick is. It is the most beautiful blue toned pink. Firstly, meaning your teeth look whiter when you wear it, but also it isn't really in your face. I can wear this in confidence and not make people think that I am an utter barbie wannabe. The colour does wear off a bit, but that is mostly to do with the cremesheen formula, which I personally prefer because it makes my lips feel nicer.

This MAC lipstick is also a cremesheen, which I really love, because it gives my lips a more moisturised feel and also isn't overly sticky. Not only that but it leaves a nice glossy look on the lips, which I really love because I feel like it is a little more natural then a matte look.

Again... the price of this lipstick is a little bit more on the expensive side and personally I would only ever buy a MAC lipstick as a treat, because £15.50 is a bit of a stretch for me. But, as this was a holiday present and cheaper in duty free it was very much worth the money.

I hope you enjoyed this little review and I will see you tomorrow with a guest post hopefully.

Wisdom Wednesday #20

Hello Everybody,
Sorry for the lateness of today's post, but I have began organising my life, starting with a massive clothing organisation. If you are anything like me you will be well aware of how long it takes to go through a giant clothes pile, and be able to actually get rid of things. This is just the first step of all of my organisation. But, for my final Wisdom Wednesday I thought I would make a link to back to school and organisation with the following quote...
I have a strong belief that if you keep your life organised you live with less worries and stress. I had always seemed to see my room like a metaphor before recently. I always thought that a messy room resembled how much of a shamble my life was, but then I thought about it more, and came to the realisation that my messy room was causing the shambles and stress.
I do tend to be quite an organised person most of the time, but recently I've become a bit lazy. This has caused me to feel less prepared for my new term at school, and made me to be quite frank, quite a lot more grumpy and much less motivated.
This is why I have started a one week, quick project, which I have named #emilyorganisesherlife. Where I am going to bit by bit, make my life more structured and therefore easier. To be perfectly honest, I am quite looking forward to it, particularly because I know it will involve me writing lots of lists, and becoming my old motivated and productive self.
I suppose the aim of this post is to tell all of you that the sooner you organise your life, be it having a tidier room or having a more structured routine, it will make you become happier, less stressed, and ultimately a nicer person.
I hope this post in some way inspires you to become more organised and less agonised, and you enjoyed this past Wisdom Wednesday series. I am stopping Wisdom Wednesday for a short while now but I am sure I can bring it back if I have a demand for it.

My Top 5 VMA Best Dressed!!

Hello Everybody,
Today I am going to show who in my opinion I thought were the best dressed females at the VMAs on Sunday night. I was actually surprised that everybody seemed to look stunning on this special night, and there didn't seem to be to many hideous dresses, which is quite rare. Although, I have to say, some people did have fairly revealing outfits on *cough* Nicki Minaj's Bang Bang outfit *cough* bless her.
I am going to tell you my Top 5 VMA best dressed outfit in recurring order, because that's more fun, and I like doing things that way, so here we go...

5. Jennifer Lopez

Lopez looked absolutely stunning in her Charbel Zoe dress, all be it maybe a tad revealing, but with a body like Jennifer's I'm not sure anybody would be complaining. I love how Lopez styled her outfit with a matching clutch and some matching Jimmy Choos, which I will be honest, I have slight shoe envy over. I also think that it is very elegant in the way in which Lopez kept her jewelry to a minimum and kept her makeup very simple. This certainly made the detailed straps stand out and look even more feminine.

4. Beyoncé

Urgh... I have a huge obsession with those Lorraine Schwartz earrings!! I mean... seriously... aren't they incredible? And her dress by Lebanese designer Nicolas Jebran is absolutely stunning. Albeit, the whole no underwear thing may have been taking it a bit too far to make this dress look extra spectacular, but I didn't notice, did you?

3. Lucy Hale

Wow! Wasn't Lucy's outfit a total showstopper. It was so cute and girly, yet it had a very elegant vibe to it due to the main colour being black. To be fair, as the host of the Red Carpet I'm sure the Pretty Little Liar's star wanted to stun the paparazzi. Hale's Sachin & Babi two peace is amazing! The cropped leather top with the ankle length leather skirt with metallic floral detailing makes me want to die of jealousy. Please can I have one mum? Yeh... I thought as much.

2. Taylor Swift

Didn't Taylor look absolutely amazing in this Mary Kantrantzou playsuit. The cut was certainly cheeky, but I think I'll forgive her for that, but the colour, the sleeves, the lipstick are just my everything. Seriously, Tay, you need to start making less of a statement on these Red Carpets; you're causing too many feels in that fandom *cough*insert name*cough*. Also, please can I have your shoes? They are gorgeous.

1. Kim Kardashian

Finally, my favourite outfit of the night was Kim Kardashian's, although it actually surprises me how many people where underwhelmed by her outfit choice because I absolutely loved it. Kim's outfit was by Balmain, and was a heavily beaded, tribal print mini dress, with a rather unusual but amazing cape shaped top. Personally, I couldn't pull this look off because I really do not have enough cleavage for such a brave plunge neck shape. But, the plunge wasn't what I loved about this dress. Personally, I just loved how the dress was so different to everybody else I'd seen on the red carpet, and she just stood out to me.

I hope you enjoyed this post because I enjoyed writing it, even though it did seem to take ages to write and I had to put quite a bit of research into it. See you tomorrow, with what I believe is going to be my last Wisdom Wednesday of the series.

10 facts about me! #teenblogseries

Hello Everybody,
Today I have the first post of a new series that I am getting involved in, called the teen blog series. This series will last for ten weeks, and everyone who is getting involved will post every Monday for these ten weeks.
Teen Bloggers Anouska Millar and Beth have decided to start a project called #TeenBlogSeries. Its aim is to bring together lots of the teens/young adults in the blogging community. For the next ten consecutive weeks, over 80 bloggers will be writing every Monday at 6:30pm about many different things, all beauty, lifestyle or fashion related. You can view everyones posts by going to the hashtag on twitter "TeenBlogSeries". If you would like to get involved email:
Today's post is the ten facts about me post. To make this post more interesting for you and less repetitive I have decided to check all of my other fact posts, so you can all find out something completely random and new about me.
*Goes to check all of my old "fact" blog posts.*
Me and a few throwbacks because I am now feeling nostalgic.

1) I once nearly fell down a rock face on a mountain in Switzerland, thankfully somebody caught me before I fully slipping off the path otherwise I probably wouldn't be here right now writing this blog post.
2) I have a really bad floordrobe. It is a problem, and I need help with it. Seriously though... over the summer I have developed some awfully lazy habits, before the exams this year my room never got like this, in fact I was a bit of a neat freak *slaps wrist*.
3) I have a love hate relationship with spreadsheets. I enjoy making simple ones that don't include numbers, for example, I have made spreadsheets for my school timetable, and even a daily timetable (yes, I am that sad). But, when it came to reading my grades off of a piece of paper this Thursday... let's just say that my head of year had to give me a little bit of help *bit embarassing to say the least*.
4) My laptop and I really don't get on at the best of times. Firstly, it won't turn on without being plugged in, but then Window's won't load if it is plugged in, but I've managed to implicate a technique in order for my laptop to work better *sorry laptop... but you will never win.*. Also, my laptop just made me very angry because it decided to turn off in the middle of writing this point to randomly configure.
5) I know you most probably know about my glasses, but let me explain a little bit more... I have bad astigmatism *basically my eyeballs aren't the correct shape, but who knows, mine might be right and everyone else's might be wrong*. They cannot make contact lenses for my eyes because my astigmatism is so complicated, so basically whenever I change from my contacts to glasses I take about an hour to adjust. It is one of life's annoyances.
6) I am a perfectionist, and I know I am. The way I see being a perfectionist for me is that I hate criticism at the time, but will always listen to it and work on it... even if I might not seem like it in the moment of the criticism being given. But, being a perfectionist also means that I am very self-motivated, so, to be fair, although perfectionism can have it's pitfalls, I think it is in fact quite a positive trait. Even if that does mean I can be quite hard on myself.
7) Until now I have always done my homework the day it is set, but somehow I don't think it will be physically possible for me to do that now I am beginning my A Levels without completely frazzling my brain out.
8) Eight has always been my favourite number, mainly because my birthday is on the 8th, and also because my hockey number is 88... I know, I know, two fat ladies, laugh it out and read on.
9) I used to have a crazy love for Bratz and Barbies. I would have the miniature Bratz dolls, so that  when I played with my Barbie's I could pretend that the Bratz where Barbie's daughters. To be fair, I think this is fairly logical, but I highly doubt that the creators of the dolls would be best pleased that I was aquaintancing two competing toys.
10) We have this fold up train set attached to our wall beside our stairs. It has been there for years and has only ever been touched a couple of times. I dread the day that my dad decides to use it because I really do not want to find out what has inhabited behind that *shivers out of fear*.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and if you want to find more posts like these then click here to find more.

The Summer Tag

Hello Everybody,
Today I have been tagged by the lovely Alex from Stella Etoile to do the summer tag. As you may know it really excites me to be tagged to do these types of things, because I love that you guys can get to know me better, as sometimes people do forget that bloggers are real people.

1. Favourite bronzer for summer?

This is easy for me because *shock horror how can I be a beauty blogger* I only own one bronzer, but thankfully I like it so it can still be a favourite. I absolutely adore the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer because it isn't too dark, which would look hideous on my pale skin if it was. Also, it smells delicious, and leaves me looking healthy and not dirty.

2. You're relaxing in a hammock on a tropical island, what are you sipping on?

Hmmm... This sounds nice. I think I would probably have a straw in a coconut and be sipping on it's milk *blugh* just kidding, I really dislike coconut milk. I think I would actually be drinking some Fanta Fruit Twist, because it is yummy, fruity and cooling. Perfect for a hot day.

3. Favourite summer lip product?

My favourite summer lip product is my new MAC lipstick in the shade Speed Dial. I will have a blog post going up about it really soon, but  it is basically the most amazing summery blue toned pink ever, and is just perfect for a pop of colour.

4. Pool or beach?

I would most probably say pool because I don't really like open water. But then again all of my favourite places are at the beach because the air is so fresh and the sound of waves is so calming. So, if I didn't have to swim in the sea I would say beach.

5. Summer = Crazy hair! What's your must have styling product?

Hmmm... I wouldn't particularly say that my hair actually gets too crazy in the summer *I know... I'm blessed*. However, I do make sure I use some Heat Protection by Got2b on my hair before applying heat to it, and I also thoroughly enjoy using my Salt Spay in the summer. So my best advice is to embrace the craziness.

6. Sun bathing or fake tan?

Neither *gasp*. I mean I don't mind a bit of sunbathing, but I am super pale, so I don't really tan, but the way I see it is that I would look really stupid and fake with fake tan on, because nobody has ever seen me with a tan.

7. Favourite summer nail polish?

My favourite summer nail polish is probably Mint Green by Barry M. It is from their original collection, so it lasts for ages and also stays on for roughly a week or so. Not only that, but it looks so summery because of it's pastel colour. Also, I kind of associate the colour green with summer, besides, that's the colour of the leaves.

8. Any summer traditions?

Hmmm... nope! Not really. My family do always have a family day out sometime in the summer though, and we used to always go punting every bank holiday, but we haven't it in years now.

9. Favourite summer scent?

I really love my Secret Craving Victoria Secret body spray in the summer. It is super fruity and smells of berries, which is right up my alley when it comes to fragrances, but it is also the perfect smell for the warmer months. Although, to be honest, I do wear it all year round.

10. Favourite BBQ food?

My Favourite BBQ food is the sausage. I love it!! Although my mum will never live down the moment she bought Venison sausage instead of Pork sausage (on purpose to try something new, but I wasn't happy). I'm sorry, but that just ruins sausages. Chorizo is okay though.

11. What's your favourite summer proof product?

This is going to sound really stupid, but my factor 50 sun cream will forever be my top summer proof product. I don't mind what brand it is as long as it is good, and contains all of the right stuff, like SPF for example. Also, I prefer it when it is waterproof, because that way it is more likely to cling to your skin if you are sweating.

12. Any summer vacation plans for this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream trip...

I've already been on my summer holiday this year, which you may already know about. My family and I went to Majorca, and had the most lovely time. I highly recommend Puerto d'Alcudia to anyone.

I hope you enjoyed this tag post, and keep your eyes peeled for another post that will be going live at 6:30pm tonight. Also, I tag Kelly to do this post, and anybody else that fancies doing it, but don't forget to link your ones below.

Sunday Sumnary #4

Hello Everybody,
Today is a Sunday which means it's time for another summary. I'm hoping that this summary will be a little more interesting this week because I have been up to a lot more then I had last week, and I have had a lot more fun this week.

On Sunday I spent the morning chilling, blogging and not doing much. Then at around lunchtime my Dad made the most delicious chicken chasseur with asparagus and mustard mash. It was amazing! Then we went to see my Nan, which was really nice because we hadn't seen her in a long time. We also watched Grease whilst we were there, which is one of all time musicals.

On Monday I went stationary shopping with my Mum and brother. I enjoyed this a lot. Mainly because who doesn't love a bit of stationary shopping? We then went to a local hockey supply shop to get my brother some hand guards and a gum sheild. On the way home we had a Harvester for lunch. I must admit, I was a little bit gutted that they didn't have sweetcorn on their salad bar.

I went to Louisa's on this day with Becca. We had a nice morning chilling and ate our lunch in. We then went to a local Pets At Home so I could admire the chinchilla that they currently have there. I then found a bearded dragon and couldn't be more excited. They are just such majestic creatures. We then went to Matalan to look around all of the home stuff for something to do. I enjoyed this, I have always had a thing for looking at homeware. In the evening I went to hockey training where my best friend from my team broke the news to me that she was moving to a rival team *I will get her back!*.

Wednesday was a more relaxing day for me, although I did decide to make some Strawberry Shortcake Towers, which were in fact very tasty. But, the shortbread towers did then take most of the day to finish so I didn't get up to much else after then, apart from make dinner. I made pasta in tomato sauce with sausage bits and courgette and pepper.

Thursday was the day most 16 years olds had been dreading since the beginning of June. It was results day. I was actually very happy with my results on Thursday and can officially say that I have finished and passed them all and can start my A Levels. After we all received our results and year book, and I was enrolled onto the Silver DofE we headed back to Becca's for a High School Musical marathon where we ate Clyde the Catapilla cake and marshmallows. I was also reunited with Katie, Kerry and Emily who had all been on holiday.

Louisa, Becca, Katie and I had a nice day. Firstly was made some jelly around Becca's and make a tonne of it, and when I say I tonne I literally mean a tonne. We then went to Subway and I had the most delicious sub. I highly recommend a 6" Italian with Tuna, Toasted, and then with lettuce and tomato added to it. It will change your life, I promise. Afterwards we went back to eat the jelly, although once we got there we quickly found out that Becca's brother has eaten most of it. We also had a little venture into Becca's garage, it's rather weird and creepy in there. In the evening my family and I ordered a pizza from a local takeaway.

Yesterday I had another relaxing morning. I wrote two blog posts for you, as I was feeling incredibly kind, and did the DIY for yesterday's second post. I then went to a local pub for lunch with my dad which was very lovely. We then bought some ice ready for when we got home, because my mum had been nominated for for the fundraising phenomenon, the Ice Bucket Challenge. We then had a relaxing evening in.

And that was my week, I hope you all enjoyed your week and you are looking forward to the coming week and bank holiday tomorrow.

DIY// Tumblr Inspired Notebook

Hello Everybody,
I am back with my second post of the day "saaay what?!", however if you follow me on twitter then you may have seen me tweet about this last week. That is because I have actually been inspired recently to actually do some DIY posts, as I did say on my first post of this year that I would try to do more DIY posts. Clearly, I haven't done any yet, so I thought I would do my first one to go along with earliers school supply post.
Today I want to show you how to make a very Tumblr/pinterest/weheartit inspired notebook, that is a great way of making your old ugly notebooks look pretty and as good as new. I thought this would be a great idea as I know that I love a pretty notebook, but I get bored of the ones I currently have quite quickly and therefore waste paper, because I don't finish my old ones.

What you will need!

Pritt Stick
Collection of your favourite photos printed
An old Notebook

1) Cut one of your photos into a triangular shape with the scissors.
2) Put the glue onto the back of the triangle photo and put onto the old notebook cover, starting for the bottom left hand corner.
3) Then cut another photo into an upside down triangle and glue it next to the photo that you have already stuck onto the notebook.
4) Repeat this process until you get to the right hand side of the notebook. If you have any extras on this end you can just tuck them on the otherside of the cover and stick it down.
5) Cut a photo to fill the gap on the left hand side and then start doing the next layer.
6) To do the next layer you want to start by using an upside down triangle instead. This creates a nicer tiling pattern.
7) Then basically keep repeating until you have filled the entire cover.
8) The top is the hardest bit and definitely requires a bit more patience and trimming of the images, but once you have got the hang of it you should be fine.

I hope this DIY made sense, although it is fairly self explanatory, so if what I said wasn't so easy to understand just copy the  image below.
I hope you enjoyed my first ever proper DIY post, and you also liked the fact that this was my second post of the day and it was a bit of surprise. I look forward to doing some more DIY posts for you in the future.

Back to School Supplies Haul

Hello Everybody,
Probably the best part of going back to school is the supply shopping, where you can get all of the bits and bobs you might need to keep you going throughout the year. Although there is absolutely no doubt that you would've ran out of pens by Christmas because they have been lost, stolen or broken. But, it is still super fun, shopping for new supplies for school, and as I am going into sixth form to study my A Levels I thought that it was important that I bought lots of bits and pieces that could keep me organised throughout the next couple of years, because there is no doubt that I want to excel in my subjects.
The first place I went for some stationary shopping was Sainsbury's, who do in fact have quite a good range of back to school supplies at the moment. Firstly, I picked up a multicoloured academic diary for my homework. I am unsure as to whether my school supply the sixth formers with homework diaries like they have in previous years, so I thought I'd rather be safe then sorry and pick one up anyway. The diary is a view to a week, which I am hoping will be plenty of room, and when I have used it a few times I may do a planner organisation post for you all. I also picked up a pink butterfly patterned binder, which I will most probably use to keep all of my notes, exercise sheets and revision in order.
I then went to ASDA to pick up the rest of my school supplies as they currently have a massive back to school range and have a fair few deals going on. The first few things I picked up were, some dividers, to keep my binder nice and organised. I then picked up some filler paper to keep at the back of my binder, because you never know when you'll need some paper.
I then picked up a white pencil case that has a pink floral design on it, I only really picked it up because it looked pretty, but I also needed a replacement pencil case because my pencil cases always get really gross on the inside. To put into my pencil case I got some Black Bic Pens, because you always need new black pens. I then picked up some Bic HB Pencils, that also came with an eraser, because I always need new pencils as I seem to always drop them and break them. I also picked up some BIC highlighters because a girl can never have enough highlighters, they came in a pack of, orange, green, blue, yellow and pink. I then picked up a pack of 12 colouring pencils in case I do decide to become a bit creative and use pencils. Finally I picked up a Pink Pritt Stick, firstly because it is pink and secondly because cheap glue sticks never seem to make anything stick.
What have you bought for you new school year this year? Or if you no longer go to school have you bought any new stationary lately?

GUEST POST// Kelly's road trip must haves!!

Hello Everybody,
Today I have another guest post for you from a fellow blogger but also a good friend of mine called Kelly. You may see that she has actually had a fair few mentions on my blog before because we spend a lot of time together as friends outside of our blogging life. Kelly has an awesome blog *and I am not just being biased* and has also decided to take the challenge of blogging everyday this month, like myself. Therefore, if you fancy popping over to Kelly's blog then you can do so blog clicking the link here.
Hey there!
I'm Kelly and I have my own little blog called I Clearly Don't Have a Life which I would love for you to check out if you have a minute, but only after you are done marvelling in the glory of the fab work that Emily's got going on over here.
After recently taking a little road trip of my own down to the beach, I thought I'd share with you a few of my road trip must haves.
1) A jamming playlist to blast on your journey full of songs that everyone knows the words to for maximum singing. A few of my essential songs are Rolling in the Deep by Adele, Crashed the Wedding by Busted, I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift and Super Bass by Nicki Minaj.
2) Skin protection is vital, even if it doesn't seem like it's going to be sunny you should put on some suncream; it's better to be safe than sorry. I know I'm probably sounding like a nagging mum right now but it is, even if it smells and can make you feel all slimy.
3) Sunglasses. Your eyes are just as important to protect as your skin, and the whole screwed up face thing that you pull when you can't see anything because the sun is in your eyes in never attractive.
4) Following on from the little weather preparedness theme we have going on we have an umbrella or at least something with a hood because you never know when the weather is about to turn, which if you live in the UK like me is far too often. I ended up getting soaked when I went to the beach last week because a storm suddenly came over us and I was the only one without something to keep me dry.
5) Shoes that you can easily take off always come in handy because it's undoubtable that you will  end up with mountains of sand in your shoes if you're going to the beach which tends to become very annoying, very fast.
6) A hairband or two and a flurry of bobby pins is great for when the wind gets up and your hair does nothing but get in your face and stick to your lip gloss. If you're planning to just throw your hair up into a bun then you could always wear one of those little flower crowns to put around it. I recently brought one and I love it!
7) A camera, or just your phone, to take hundreds of hilarious snaps that you will laugh at for years to come.

I hope you enjoyed this little guest post of mine!
Thanks for reading!

Thanks Kelly for this guest post, it is absolutely amazing, and I am sure all of my readers enjoyed it as much as I did. Don't forget to check out Kelly's blog here if you enjoyed this post, and leave your comments below on what your road trip must haves are, and I'll make sure that Kelly will see them. Also, if all of you fancy giving Kelly a cheeky follow on bloglovin' then you are all really cool!! So go and do it!!!

Back to School//Being prepared for the next chapter...

Hello Everybody,
I'm sorry for the late post today but it has been quite an eventful day for me, as it was my Results Day, and I was very pleased with my results, so today has been a very relieving day for me. Also, my results have meant that I can move onto the next chapter in my life, which leads me onto today's post, and that is about being prepared for new or fresh starts.
Image Sources: WeHeartIt

There is no way that you can open a new page in life let alone start a new chapter without a plan. Take the time to think about what you want. I believe that deep down everyone has things that they want to achieve in life and that if they make plans to achieve them then they can.
But, if things go wrong then it is okay, because if you make multiple plans then there will always be a way of making things right. Sometimes things won't go to the original plan, but as long as you have the drive to get out of life what you want then you will still be able to get there.

Once you have made a plan for what you want to do, get organised. Make sure you have everything to make your plans possible. Whether it be equipment, or course you need to educate yourself with to follow your dreams. Being organised will make moving on with things a lot easier.

Starting new chapters is important in anybody's life, we need to do this to grow in life. Starting new chapters is making changes in the order to move on with life and get the most out of it.
I hope you feel inspired to begin your new chapter, whether it means restarting something with blank sheets, or beginning a whole new journey. Have fun!

Wisdom Wednesday #19

Hello Everybody,
This is going to be the penultimate Wisdom Wednesday of this series as I do enjoy doing them in tens, because ten is a nice even number, and shizzle. I thought that it would be good for me to make this post extremely up beat and awesome, as a day that many people my age are awaiting and dreading is afoot tomorrow and that is GCSE Results Day.
One thing I would like to say before I get older people turning their noses at this post, I know that GCSEs aren't as important as A Levels, but there is an argument that they are because if we don't get good grades in these then we may not be able to do our desired A Levels and therefore may not be able to do our desired university course, so it is still a snowballing effect really. And they are important and just as terrifying to us... so BE NICE!!
I think that this quote has three meanings behind it so I am going to split this down so it is a little bit simpler for both you and I to understand. The first part of the quote is "Smell the rain, and feel the wind." Personally, I think this line is highlighting the important of mindfulness, which is something that a lot of us do not do because we have our head to much in future or past worries. It is important to practice mindfulness to live a less stressful and happy life. Being mindful is when you live in the moment and appreciate it. If you want to practice mindfulness a great place to do so is in the shower. Feel every drop of water as it lands of your skin, see all of the dirt as it runs down the plug hole. Listen to the spray as it splashes out of the shower head. It will put you in a meditative and happy place. Once mindfulness is practiced in one place you can go onto others until you feel mindful the majority of the time, you may even find that you become a nice person because you are being more mindful of others and not just yourself.
"Live your life to the fullest potential." is a huge deal. If we lived our lives to the best way possible we will live with less regrets and feel much more fulfilled with ourselves in later life. If you have a dream  chase it. There is no point thinking that your dream is too big, because I believe that nobodies dream is too big. At least if you try to chase your dream you won't die thinking that you never put your all into what you truly wanted to do. It is the same with everything in life, if you want to do well you need to do everything to your fullest potential.
Finally "Fight your dreams." This is so important, particularly for those who are receiving results tomorrow, or received results last week. Sometimes things won't go to plan, but if we take the rebound and come back fighting from our failures we will be the ones who are strong. Fight for want you want, and don't let anything take that away from you. You can do anything that you put your mind to, you just need to believe in yourself. Trust me, self-belief is the first place to start, and the rest of what you need to fight your dreams will come along faster then you ever imagined.
Good Luck and Toodles,

Perfect Pairs #2014bloggerchallenge

Hello Everybody,
Today I have another post for the 2014 Blogger Challenge and boy is it becoming a challenge and this title is particularly challenging, especially because it is very very broad. I mean, perfect pairs, vague right? It could be your perfect pair of shoes, your perfect food pair, your perfect makeup pair, but I decided I wanted to do something fashiony, and this particular post is going to be quite autumnal, especially considering it has been a bit nippy lately.
Okay... so I know that we have another month until it's officially Autumn, but I was wearing my knitted cardigan and jeans today as I felt quite chilly this morning, and that's when I thought, don't cardigans and jeans look cute together? Cable knit cardigans and blue skinny jeans are my go to, I really want to be cosy, outfit.
Firstly let's talk about how handy cardigans are for this weather.Personally, I believe cardigans suited 3 levels of coldness *is that even a word?*. When you are warm, you can take it off, then if you get a bit cooler you can put it on, and then if you get even colder you can button it up. Handy isn't it?
Jeans are just jeans. If you don't own a pair then you might be a little bit cray *no offense*. Jeans are so simple to just dress up or down. They go with a lot of tops, from blouses to t-shirts. And there are all sorts of jeans to flatter all body types.
Overall, I believe jeans pair up very, very well with knitted cardigans. I know that me saying this might sound totally mad, but it's just so snuggly. Plus, when you are wearing both you are less exposed to the world. Therefore, we feel a lot less self-concious in what we are wearing.
Not only that, but the jeans and knitted cardigan look can be layered which is just amazing. Therefore, even when it gets deeper into the Autumn and Winter months, we can layer thicker coats over our jeans and knitted cardigan look, so we still look stylish when we remove our coats once we get inside.
I hoped you enjoyed this little ramble of how I think that cardigans and jeans are the perfect pairs and I will speak to you tomorrow with a Wisdom Wednesday post.
What are your perfect pairs?

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

Hello Everybody,
Today I am going to be reviewing a product that I had lusted over since the day of it's release, and that is the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. Now I know that it really isn't cheap, but firstly I got it for 20% off because it was my first order from Feel Unique, and secondly I bought it as a finishing exams present for myself, as I'd wanted and saved for it for quite a while.
Personally, I believe that this beautiful palette of rose gold goodness is a great investment for my makeup collection because every colour looks so luxury and gorgeous, plus the palette is pretty big so I know that it will last me for a long time.

Firstly, let's just talk about the packaging... isn't it just perfect? It's rose gold, sleek, elegant and durable. So what could be so wrong with the packaging? The palette clasps shut properly so it has less likelihood of being damaged, unlike the original Naked palette, and it is also super easy to open, unlike the Naked Basics palette which needs a bit more force to be opened. I also love the fact the colour of the packaging really corresponds with the colour theme on the inside of the palette too. Overall, I think the packaging is perfect, it even comes with a nice big mirror on the inside.

Oh gosh! The colours inside the palette are just perfect for me. The colours are warm, pink and very very girly, which is pretty much everything I love. I do prefer the lighter shades I will be honest, but that is mainly because I am not skillful enough to apply a dark eyeshadow without smudging it halfway down my face, because yes, that does happen. My favourite colour from the the entire palette however had got to be Trick, which is a rusty copper colour and looks absolutely stunning blended into the crease of the eye.

The pigmentation of the colours in the Naked 3 palette is absolutely astonishing. You honestly only need one sweep of the darkest colour Blackheart and it is already super dark, which will never stop amazing me. Also, the staying power of the eyeshadows are really good and, as much as it may seem controversial, I actually prefer to where these colours without primer, one reason being that I really don't like the feel of the Urban Decay Primer Potion on my eye after trying a sample of it.

Albeit expensive, you definitely get what you pay for with this palette, and it is certainly worth every penny. Personally I believe it is an investment, because you really won't need to be repurchasing one of these palettes all too often, but it does currently have 10% off in the summer sale on feel unique so I have left a link here for you just in case you would like to have a cheeky purchase.

I hope this review has helped you to decide whether you need this palette in your life, but I haven't broken your bank doing so.

Sunday Summary #3

*Sings* It's a Sunday, and I am going to summarise stuff for you, because it is the end of the week, and summary alliterates with Sunday, and I always do it for you!! Yep, I totally just made that into a song, I mean, if I could play the ukulele then I would record that and it would become a viral video, but I can't, so we won't. However, it is a Sunday, therefore I am still going to summarise my week for you, even though this is probably going to be the most boring summary you will ever hear from me, but never mind, I going to stick with my weekly tradition.

Sunday 10th August

Oh! Last Sunday! The day I experienced my first ever stressors of what it really feels like to make an entire roast dinner by yourself, not to mention the pressures of you family getting in the way every five minutes. I also learnt a valuable life lesson... that Aunt Bessie Yorkshire puddings only take 5 minutes in the oven, and not the extra 25 minutes I put in front of that *even A Level Food Tech students have food disasters*. To be honest though, I've never been the best at reading instructions, I tend to just do whatever I please, and in that moment I obviously wanted very crispy Yorkshire Puddings!
I also said Toodlepip to my Mum on Sunday as she was going away on a training course until Friday, which meant I was responsible for all of the housework *groan*.

Monday 11th August

I decided to invite Kelly round on the Monday, and we kind of just spent the day chatting and not doing a lot really. We did at one point go for a walk around the block because I needed to post my Grandad's birthday card, who will most probably be reading this right now *Hi Grandad! I hope you had a wonderful Birthday*. I'm not overly sure we particularly did much on this day, but I do know that it involved a lot of laziness, but that's what all girls do, right?

Tuesday 12th August

I actually thought that I was going to get very bored on this particular day because absolutely nobody was around apart from my brother so I felt like a bit of a lost cause. But, in the end my brother and I went to the local corner shop and chip shop, stocked up on a tonne of junk food and then went back home to watch the first two American Pie's, which were really funny and I had never seen them before.

Wednesday 13th August

Wednesday was probably the most boring for me because again nobody was around, including my brother. So I decided to do some of my school coursework, which I still need to do quite a bit more on but currently have no motivation to, but I'm hoping that a sudden "I want to do this work" mood will crop up soon because I need to get it completed before the term starts. Although in the evening my brother and I did order a burger and chips and watched American Pie: The Wedding.

Thursday 14th August

On the Thursday I went to Becca's with Louisa for the morning, which was quite nice because we got to chill, and sort out a few birthday present things. Afterwards I went to ASDA to pick up the ingredients that I needed to make the Mini Doughnuts. Then, once I got home and relaxed for a bit I made dinner for my family, which was gammon, egg and chips, which I think was actually very nice. Afterwards, my brother and I watched the final American Pie, which is The Reunion, which I think was very good.

Friday 15th August

Friday was a housework day for me, just to ensure the house looked extra presentable for my mum's return later on in the evening. I even baked the mini doughnuts for when she got back. Therefore by the time I ran down the train platform to greet her and she had returned home, we had a lovely evening ordering a pizza and watching Geordie Shore and the Big Brother Final.

Saturday 16th August

Finally, yesterday I had another quite relaxing day, but it was nice to have the whole family in the house all at once. In the afternoon my Dad and I went to ASDA to pick up some things for our dinner today and we also went to pick up a KFC for our dinner yesterday. We even tried one of those new Skittles Krushems, which was delicious I will add.

I hope you had a good week, and I hope that this week is good to you also.

Embakes Mini Doughnuts

Hello Everybody,
Today I have an Embakes post, and before I start I do not know how many of these I will be doing after this as I have started a little project and as much I like to share my recipes I also like to keep some to myself. But I am sure I will do some Embakes posts in the future, just not as many.
Today however I am going to show you how I made some chocolate covered mini doughnuts which were really fun to make, and make a really yummy and light snack, perfect for parties or family get togethers.

75g Plain Flour
1/2tsp Baking Powder
1/2tsp Cinnamon
50g Caster Sugar
1 Large Egg
2tbsp Milk
25g Unsalted Butter, melted
200g Dark Chocolate
Colourful sprinkles

1.Preheat the oven to 180'c and put your mini doughnut silicon mould onto a baking tray. Sift the flour, baking powder and cinnamon into a bowl and then stir in the caster sugar so that all of the dry ingredients are evenly combined.
2. Put the egg, milk and melted butter into a jug and whisk until all ingredients are completely mixed together and then pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and whisk together until the batter is completely smooth.
3. Use two teaspoons to then fill your doughnut cases. They should be almost full, but as most trays only make a dozen doughnuts and we are making 24 mini doughnuts you will want to only use half of the mixture and repeat this step once the first batch has finished baking.
4. Bake the doughnuts for 8-10 minutes or until they have risen nicely and take them out of the oven. If some of the centers have closed up then whilst the doughnuts are still hot use the end of a wooden spoon to separate them.
5. Leave the doughnuts in the silicon tray to cool for 5 minutes and then use a knife the loosen the edges of each doughnut and turn them out.
6. Repeat the final steps until you have all 24 mini doughnuts made and let all of the doughnuts cool on a cooling rack for a few hours.
7. Melt some chocolate in a heat proof bowl over a pan of boiling water, ensuring you stir it regularly so that the chocolate doesn't burn.
8. Dunk the tops of the doughnuts into the chocolate to coat them, you may need to poke something through the middle of each doughnut so that part doesn't get covered in the chocolate also.
9. Once you have done this get a tonne of sprinkles and go crazy, the more sprinkles you add the prettier the doughnuts look in my opinion.
10. Leave the chocolate to set on top of the doughnuts, and then they will be ready to share and enjoy *or you could just keep them for yourself, but that would be a bit greedy*.

I hope you enjoyed this post and try this recipe, because the doughnuts are certainly delicious.

Healthy Alternative Snacks!!

We all do it... Stay in the house all day and scoff our faces with Doritos and Ben&Jerry's and then moan about our bodies later on. It is time for these habits to change. But whilst keeping everything we eat continually delicious, just not as fatty and unhealthy. Besides, the holiday season might be nearing the end but we don't want to feel sorry for ourselves because we lost the bikini body we were working towards for months. We want to look just as good all year round, or at least feel comfortable in our own bodies. That is why today I have put together a post of healthier alternative foods to what you may be eating at the moment.

Ice-cream --> Frozen Yogurt

Ice cream is many peoples pitfall in the summer because it is a nice cooling comfort food, but sometimes it is good to try a slightly healthier option, because ice-cream is full of sugar and fat, which is not only bad for our bodies and health, but can also effect our skin. Perhaps swapping your ice-cream to frozen yogurt would be a better option. It may not be necessarily healthy, but rather then containing cream it contains milk, which is much less fatty and on some occasions it can be completely fat-free. Also, many frozen yogurts use sugar alternatives such as honey and agave nectar instead. This is such a better option for comforting treat.

Ice-lolly --> Frozen fruit lollies

One example of a frozen fruit lolly is by putting some blueberries onto a skewer and dipping it into a low fat yogurt and then freezing it. It is such a great and quick idea that there is absolutely no need to go out to the ice-cream van every time you want a refreshing treat. Plus, it is so much healthier and you are getting one of your 5 a day. Although, if you don't like blueberries you can simply just freeze grapes, which is another refreshing and delicious ice lolly alternative.

Crisps --> Fruit

Okay... so fruit might not be quite crisps, but fruit is so much more healthier for you and there is so many different fruits to choose from, it doesn't necessarily have to be an apple or banana. A couple of my favourite fruit choices are strawberries and pineapple. Dried Fruit is also really nice, and great to carry around as a healthy snack. I really love the dried pineapple made by Urban Fruit, it is so delicious and easy to carry around.

But sandwiches are boring...

We all get bored of them at some point and although we know that sandwiches have always been a key to a balanced lunch, we don't want to eat them! So why not try some alternatives? Firstly, you could switch your bread around, for example, use a tortilla wrap instead of regular bread. Perhaps you might want to have a pasta salad instead of a sandwich *this has always been my favourite alternative*. Recently I have also been having toasted pitta bread dipped in low fat guacamole, as well as having some vegetables such as celery and carrots to the side to dip into the guacamole once I have finished my pittas.

I hope this post helped you think of some alternative snacks you could eat for the rest of this summer, and like usual, I will talk to you tomorrow.

Wisdom Wednesday #18 A little bit of motivation!!

Okay! It's time for a bit of motivation. Something to make us get up once and for all, and get things done! Besides, August for everyone seems to be a lazy month, whether you are at work or not, mainly because the heat and summer gets to us and we kind of forget that we still need to do things.
I for example, have only left the house twice in 6 days, and both of those times it was just to get some food, which probably isn't the healthiest of lifestyles. But, it is okay because I am feeling motivated, and getting things done all at the same time. Although, I probably should go and get some proper fresh air.
I believe it is very important to try your best with everything, even if it does mean giving yourself the extra push. If you have some work that needs to be done which you have big plans for but can't be bothered to put all of the hard work into, why? Firstly, that is just lazy, and secondly it is not working to the best of your ability. If you are not working to the best of your ability then you are wasting future opportunities, and you will probably regret it in the long run.
If we do our best in everything, no matter how much effort we have to put in to do so, then our futures could look so much brighter. For example, exams, you get out how much you put in. If you don't revise hard, you probably won't get the best result you want to achieve. But the same concept goes with anything. It's making bread, the more effort you put into kneading it, the better the bread will be.
Another reason I want to write this post is because, we also have a habit of leaving everything until the last minute. Meaning we have less time to put so much effort into what we want to succeed. This can also effect our work, quality and overall results.
I have experienced this quote first hand very recently, and that is here with my blog. I will admit that I have been putting a lot more effort into my blog, which I am thoroughly enjoying. But, because I have been trying a lot harder on my blog, I am getting a lot back. My pageviews are higher then ever, my followers are going up, more people are commenting, and I thank you all for that. But, I do personally think this probably wouldn't have happened without me trying harder on my blog posts. I am so happy you guys are enjoying my blog more, and it just shows, that what you plant now, you can harvest later.
I hope you enjoyed this post and it makes you perhaps try a little harder in everything you do from now on, because I believe that even knowing that if you try harder you will get more out of it, is very motivating.
